String Swing Violin Hanger for Mic or Music Stand

I skeptically bought this item. The last thing I would want to envision is seeing my violin on the ceramic floor when coming home someday, all in pieces. However, for something about $9 in price, it wouldn't hurt to try it out. My comments are exactly the same as those before me, it truly works! I use this on my collapsable music stand and is probably the only thing adding stability to it as they make music stands so flimsy these days. I bought the D'luca music stand from Amazon and I place it on the thinnest tubing of the stand itself, close to where you place your music.. not much more than 1cm in diameter. It holds very well. The item itself is well made, better quality than my stand itself. If you use the swing hanger, its best to have a shoulder rest on your instrument to prevent it from hitting your stand. The bow sits afloat the instrument itself and barely makes contact as it tends to hover right over the fingerboard and bridge piece. You can fit two bows on the bow hook. Despite buying this item, I still place my violin and bow on a table or sofa instead of in the hook. So its presence is so inconspicuous it takes some time to get used to placing your instrument on it. I do play a little more often because the instrument is now ready for use. Its a great item because its portable, easy to set up, you can use it during orchestra rehearsals if you bring your own stand, or even use those huge Manhasset stands. So useful during/after playing breaks, where you're too tired to rummage through your case to get your instrument. A really great buy for its value and purpose!

I received this music stand as a gift and I’ve been very pleased with the quality and the functionality of the stand. For starters, it was extremely easy to put together. It has been easy to adjust the height of the stand depending on whether I’m sitting or standing. I find the page holders especially useful to keep my music books open. The music clip is a cute accessory, but I’ve yet to put it to use. The carry case is a great feature as well, but I have not had the opportunity to use it. This stand is also compatible with a violin hanger. Overall, I’m very pleased with this music stand and would recommend it to others.

I immediately got one of these as soon as I found they'd created them. It is a modification of their classic String Swing to use to hang a fiddle from a music stand. Unfortunately the instrument and bow are too long to hang from a low music stand for use sitting down, which might impede orchestral players who've spent a bucket of money converting their fiddle setup to orchestral violin setup. ;) But for high stands (either for music or microphone) used on a stage where a singer needs their fiddle close at hand they can be placed at the perfect height. I'd imagine that somewhere in the great world of music somebody has a stripper's pole or something else too thick that they want to hang their fiddle from, but these aren't designed for such thick poles and probably the "exotic dancer" would resent it anyway. Not concrete pylons, not Styrofoam candy canes, not fence posts, et cetera. Just music stands and mike stands.

Frankly I was really surprised at how hardcore this violin hanger is. I got it for a foldable Konig and Myer music stand which is a little more heavy duty than the lightweight basic ones. Even then, now it looks like Goliath has met David. It fits great and the weight of the hanger does help stabilize the stand a little and it stays secured on the center post of the music stand. Of course if you have a full-sized non-foldable music stand, it is a great violin hanger. 2 niggles I have with this hanger: - The inner part of the v-shaped frame which clamps to the music stand is bare metal not lined with any felt or rubber. This resulted in some scuffs on the music stand. What I did was get a rubber pad and some double sided tape and lined it. Do this if you wish to protect the finish of your music stand as they will most certainly rust if the paint flakes off. - The tip of the clamp is a red piece of hard plastic. Trouble is it is slippery and does not clamp squarely in the middle of the music stand post.

I was debating between this hanger and the one that you install on the edge of the music stand part where you sit your music notes. I am not a musician and was buying it for a kid so that was just a matter of logic and I figured that this thing if it is designed right and sturdy should be good and not to be in the way of flipping sheets if resting and needing to. I am very happy when it arrived and we installed it on the leg of the music stand. It is very sturdy, installation was so easy and so fast I did it in no time, it is just a matter of putting it on and tightening that screw to adjust how tight or how loose and in which position you want the hanger. You can put it in any place and face any way so it is total freedom. To me most important are sturdiness: it is totally safe to hold an expensive instrument without hurting it in any way and also perfect for the bow. It is so comfortable and so easy to use, all you do is take off the bow first an then the violin and put back in opposite order, first you hang your violin then bow. Perfect for a child because before we got this the violin was sitting in the box before uses and the accessibility was limited because for a child to open a case and take instrument out is a whole production. Now since the violin is always out there, always accessible and so inviting to use kids want to play without any extra steps. It is like with a piano that is always out there to be played, no extra steps needed. This thing is awesome because it not only keeps your violin where you want it and safe but also makes you play so much more.. I am very happy with it, I think it is ingenious design and it does wonders for us. I hear people do get this for kids to take to school when play so the instruments are placed safely without a worry of someone accidentally stepping on one. It is worth to consider I think if one has a child that can manage to put it on and take it off without needed help. I am not sure at what point the kids are strong enough to do so by themselves.

I bought a free standing violin stand, but that was just one more thing to drag around. I bring my own music stand when I play with the church worship band, so this is permanently attached to my stand. I have a 5 string, so the neck is a bit wider than standard, but it still fits and the violin and bow hang securely.

I got this for my practice room and have added it to my music stand. It works great and does exactly what I need. I leave my violin hanging on the stand in the practice room so all I have to do is walk in, tighten and rosin the bow and start practicing. No more having to deal with the case and putting the shoulder rest on, adding the tuner. I can leave everything together. I stand to practice so I leave the music stand raised to that height. I find that I actually practice more since it is so easy to just walk in, pick up the violin and get started. The connection was sturdy and very easy to put together. I really like this hanger. My practice room would not be complete without it.

I picked up the violin two years ago and have been practicing since. I keep my violin in its case underneath my bed so sometimes I forget about it. You know what they say « out of sight, out of mind » I don’t practice nearly enough as I should. I got this attachment and stuck it on one of my black steel lamp posts. It doesn’t have to be a microphone or a music sheet holder. Learning violin is more of a bucket list item for me because I love classical music. I started late and don’t intend on making a career of it. However, I also have limited space. I like having the visualization of the violin and that it doesn’t get in the way of anything. It truly is an amazing product. I 100% recommend.
