Can this be used for Play station?

Apparently this thumb drive isn't any good from the reviews but don't know why the one person is saying thumb drives don't work on a PS4 I have a 256gb sandisc thumb drive loaded with about 15-20 fighting games on it I downloaded off PSN (Soulcalibur6, Guilty Gear Xrd, Omen of Sorrow, ETC.) and still have 74+GB on it! Paid around 20-$25 for it on Amazon and it works perfectly, you just have to make sure NOT to plug it in or remove it while the powers on!!!!! Just plug it in turn on your PS4 go to settings scroll down to Devices then scroll down to USB storage devices and it will read out to format the USB drive (if I remember correctly it only takes a few seconds) then your read to download, but remember that if the thumb drive is plugged in whatever you download will go straight into the thumb drive! You can turn the thumb drive off in the USB storage devices screen to safely remove it without powering your system down! But remember that your system must be completely off when plugging or unplugging the drive or it will erase and/or corrupt anything in it! I also bought a 2tb HDD from Amazon for around I believe $75 but it is designed for the PS4! I have around 100 physical games + 162 games downloaded in the system itself and the thumb drive with 21 (just counted them😂) fighters so I know the memory is a bit of a pain but either of these work fine. I did however use a 16gb (fat formatted) to store a bunch of screen shots and themes but it won't show what's on it so I erased it and (unfortunately) lost a couple hundred pictures and themes so I definitely don't recommend that!  One last thing, you can't transfer save data out of the system at all! Guess Sony did it so you basically can't share your games! Anyway I hope this helps you and Stay Safe ✌️

When I put some of my data into a folder on this disk it all disappeared. I lost all my important data, why does it not work with folders?

This flash drive is very slow, super slow.
When you put your data on it and next time you open it and see nothing, give the time, wait, sometimes it takes longer time for your saved folders/files to show up.

This flash drive maybe has lots of space, maybe it is good to keep for files that you need them once in a month or so. But it is way to slow to upload, to download and to open if you intent to use it often.

Why does it range so much in quality? I got it but I'm a bit scared to use it now.

run an anti virus scan on the drive. try to reformat it. I have used mine with music mixer programs & haven't had any problems with the 512Gb or 256GB drives I've purchased, both in 2020. Mine showing 499GB available, using 36GB. It's from China so it works or doesn't. feel safe & buy a name brand flash USB 3.0. good luck
