It goes on smoothly for me, although not as smoothly as regular chap stick stuff. I used it, and my cold sore was immediately affected. It started going down as soon as I applied it, relieving the pain and that weird itch that comes with cold sores. The sore quickly dissipated within days. I lost my first stick and had to order another.l I think the cat has it hidden away somewhere. At least she waited until my cold sore was gone before deciding it was a nice roly-poly toy. I love the scent and the cooling effect it has on my lips, but I have quite a few tea tree products. I use it regularly now.
