Oase Swimskim Pond Skimmer

This is a small skimmer with a big impact on my pond. Installation is simple as long as you read the instructions and follow them. Very easy to snap parts that are not assembled on to the unit and within 5 minutes having it skimming away in your pond. You have to have patience to make sure the ballasts are full so it keeps skimming. Maybe that’s not the right way to say it but I think you might understand. Again, reading directions is important for this item. I would order this again in a heartbeat and should have done so last year to keep debris from getting waterlogged and ending up as sludge on the pond bottom. I have a small (maybe 6x8x4) pond- this is perfect to use instead of tearing the pond apart to install a regular skimmer. My pond was DIY - with basic knowledge of fish care and plumbing. It’s nothing fancy but it has evolved over the years to the point a skimmer is a necessity. It has only been running a few hours. I fully expect it to need frequent cleaning in the first few days of use. After that though it should not be so bad.

I love Oase's SwimSkim Pond Skimmer! It works exactly like the review videos said it would. It's quiet and compact, yet powerful, easy to set-up and clean. It tackled a glut of maple flowers overnight and has kept on boosting my water clarity since I plopped it into the pond. It's so easy to empty, yet it holds a lot more debris than I imagined its small size would. Our pond has a stone waterfall and a boggy edge, with the patio coming right up to the water on the opposite side, so there really is no place to attractively install a permenent skimmer. This product has been the right solution. The pump functions as an aerator, too, which is a welcome bonus. All of this for a remarkably low price!

This was the missing piece to a clear pond. I do have to clean the filter once a day I sprayed off with a hose, but it’s doing its job. I watched some videos where people had trouble saying that it wouldn’t stay partially submerged. Mine works great. I’ve never had a problem with it.

This product is great. Every aspect is very well designed. That said I would love to see the manufacturer make one with a strainer basket 4-5x bigger with the same pump motor. I’m positive this unit works perfectly for a smaller pond than mine. The price is perfect and it does clean very easy. Options for a longer cord would be nice. Plug and play, no issues.

Nice compact unit, well designed, easy to set up. Does a good job of skimming debris WHEN it stays submerged. The collecting basket is small, but easy to empty. Even after tying two bricks to the bottom it still pops up out of the water to a point where new water cannot enter through the inner filter basket. This has meant, putting on waders every day to get out to the point where its deep enough to not ground on the pond floor, but too far away to service the basket from the shore. Would probably work well on straight sided walls versus sloped pond wall.

Lo tengo en mi piscina. En una de las esquinas opuestas al retorno de la depuradora. Al principio era algo escéptico, pero al probarlo me ha convencido. Lo recoge todo, ojas, pelos, ramas, avispas, mosquitos, etc.... La virtud es que va a nivel del agua sea cual sea. Compraría todas las veces que hiciera falta.

Appareil très intéressant pour nettoyer la surface d’un petit étang et en plus fait de l’oxygène . Et pas trop gourmand en consommation .
