020 CFA Level 1 Kaplan Schweser Notes: Books 1-5, Practice Exam Vol 1-2

Received the books in 7 days, and started exam preparation immediately. I already finished 1.5 books, the following is my impression: 1. The concepts are illustrated very clearly and concisely. So far I've never met any occasion in which I need to refer to other materials for clarification. 2. Practice exams are highly relevant, but if you need extra confidence, they are not enough. Maybe doing the two volumes of mock exams is a good idea, but I have not done them yet. 3. Syllabus revision is reflected -- this is why you need to buy the latest 2020 edition. However, if the editor can highlight which section/concept is recently added, that would really add some good color and give a good context. 4. The price is fair. I bought the seven books on Amazon for $500+. The benefits really justify the price, and I can really see the serious effort put in by the authors.

I am anxious to make sure that my $1000 exam registration fee does not go to waste. The Schweser book is very legible and is condensed enough to be not mind numbing but still covers all the relevant content. I am currently preparing for the Dec 2020 exams and think that this should get me through just fine. Schweser is generally considered the best guide to dip into level 1 as they are a HUGE provider of CFA exam prep materials. But whatever you do, dont try to chew on the CFA official texts. You will pass out while trying to finish the ethics section.

I have received damaged books

I didnt get an access code along with this package that you would normally get if you order this from kaplan. I cant access the ebooks from kaplans website without the code

There was only one book with the practice test. There weren’t the book 1-5 as promised.

The books are not the same high quality prints that are included in the pictures. Instead they are a flimsier, with poorer paper and print quality. They have different cover art/design. Most importantly, they claim to include the comprehensive formula sheet available with the print of the books included in the photos, yet there was no formula sheet to be found, not even a flimsy reprint. The 7 books came wrapped individually in paper, meaning they clearly were not in their original packaging and might have even been used. You're better off finding used copies that include all the items from the SKU.
