It may seem a little high but I guarantee you, it's not. I'm 5'7" and my partner is 5'1" and the chair works for the both of us as artists. The fold out table on the side is great for clients to rest their drinks or phone on as well as for us to leave a few tools in between use. The foot rest is a plus for the clients. My clients love being able to rest their legs on the foot rest adding to the comfort level. The chair can definitely hold some weight. My heaviest client was well over 250 lbs and she sat comfortably. The only real "complaint" is that it was a little hard to pull out at the beginning but that adds to the sturdiness of the chair. My order came with the carrying case and I would highly recommend anyone to get the carrying case if you can. It makes transporting the chair that much easier. Albeit, it's not a must.
