Yeah it took me a bit to get it all done, but I followed a YouTube video and knocked it out in a couple of hours. Don’t listen to the people saying the included screwdriver is trash, it worked just fine for me! Everything was plug and play, IMO pretty easy if you’re somewhat new to working on things like this. The color is labeled glacier blue but to me it’s more on the lines of just plain clear, but I don’t mind how everything turned out!

Love the overall quality of these shells, they look and feel top notch! Yeah it took me a bit to get it all done, but I followed a YouTube video and knocked it out in a couple of hours. Don’t listen to the people saying the included screwdriver is trash, it worked just fine for me! Everything was plug and play, IMO pretty easy if you’re somewhat new to working on things like this. Great quality shells! I bought two sets and the fit is perfect. Didn’t have any issues with lining everything up, and no issues with bulging. The matte finish is nice—as far as I can tell the transparent shells don’t have a coating like the solid colors. Might be wrong on that though. They look really nice when put together! As far as I could tell, there wasn’t any defects from the molding—that’s kind of rare with products like these. Usually at least one thing is slightly off. It looks practically identical to the OEM housings too (in terms of design). I didn’t use the provided screw drivers—I used my own, so I can’t speak to their quality. But, typically the pack in screw drivers with parts like this are made of lower quality, soft metal, leading to an increased risk of stripping screws. I’d highly recommend buying a high quality set yourself. A nice set of tweezers and a spudger are also highly recommended. As far as the difficulty of installation, I didn’t have a hard time with it. However, I work on electronics all the time and have been doing projects like this for years. There’s a lot of small ribbon cables and wires that could easily be damaged if you don’t know what you’re doing—if this is your first time doing anything like this, tread with extreme caution. This definitely requires at least intermediate skills working on electronics. Each joycon took me between 30 minutes and an hour. Definitely not a super quick swap. The left side is easier to do than the right side, because it has less jammed into it. Getting the buttons to stay put while you’re getting the board lined up and screwed in was a pain with the right side. Overall, very satisfied with my purchase. Great way to customize the look of your Switch, and freshen up old joycon!
