Quality is worth the price
As other reviewers have stated, this unit is a serious piece of equipment. It is very heavy duty and able to hoist very heavy objects. I used it to reposition the ramp on my boat dock. I needed a jack with extended length lifting. This jack is actually an over kill for my application however because of its extra lifting capacity I am sure I will find additional uses for it. This jack works in both directions making it useful for pulling as well as lifting. The company offers accessories for this jack enhancing its versatility. It can be used much like a come along or hand winch. Other versions of this very jack are used to pry open accident vehicles for passenger extrication. Emergency personnel use this jack. It also has field repair kits to overhaul the lifting and pulling mechanism. The jack is so heavy duty it’s hard to believe that it could ever break. The handle is all metal. There are no plastic parts on this jack. The finished surface on this jack appears to be powder coated and very durable. Only time will tell how durable the finish actually is. Yes believe it or not, it is still possible to buy an all-metal extra heavy-duty piece of equipment these days at a reasonable price.

Hi-Lift Jack
I just bought this Hi-Lift jack less than a month ago and I have jacked up a ride on mower and jacked a tree stump out of the ground easily. I had a piece of steel plate that I bolted it to for greater surface area, balance and so it wouldn't force the jack into the dirt when jacking the stump and it worked perfectly. It is made well. Strong and easy to use. One little lever you pull up and you can jack it up and you push the lever down to release the jack back down. I have a lot of things I can do with this tool. I would definitely recommend this jack to anyone. Don't go a fewer dollars cheaper make yours a Hi-Lift jack.

Very Solid and Well Built
Primary use is on a Tacoma with 8 inch lift. No problem with the lifting my truck and is very sturdy. Lifted my brother's Excursion fairly well and did not even give a hint at bowing like some jacks do (of course did not lift to highest point out of common sense either). Would recommend the optional foot pad if using it in soft material as the base is very small compared to the height but this is not a limitation. I expect will work great for pulling as well. FYI: There are some tube mounted (like front bar or such) fixtures that are made to mount the jack to your vehicle. I have not come across one yet that can handle the weight of this jack appropriately. I took a piece of channel iron, welded some wheel studs from to poke out from the inside (so I could use the same wheel locks on my tires to secure) then welded that channel to my front brush guard. Very solid mount.

What a tool
What can I say that their reputation doesn't already? If you're new to this whole thing, when used the paint is going to scratch some, duh. It's not a pretty accessory, it's a tool. As the paint scratches it is smart to get some axle grease (aquatic grade is best) and wipe down your shaft. You should probably clean it and grease it every time you wash your truck. Or leave it in the garage when not in use (its not a handbag ladies, u dont need to carry it to the store) and then you only need to clean it after heavy use or new paint gouges. They work much better for much longer when not stored in the elements on your roof. Wear gloves. Mechanics, construction workers, tow truck drivers, ect. all wear gloves and their hands are tougher than yours. These have multiple pinch points engineered to eat exposed fingers. Watch a youtube video or two so you don't drop your truck on yourself when lowering. Good luck and don't tempt Darwin.

Very strong and heavy duty, lots of uses, including removing stumps, need to be careful though
I got this jack primarily/initially to remove a large stump from my yard, the stump weighs I'd say 200-250 pounds and I was having trouble moving it around. While probably not its intended purpose this jack was just the right tool for the job. I could prop the base of the jack against the side of the hole I was digging and place the jack point against the stump and tip it so I could cut the roots underneath. I also attached the jack to the stump and another tree with straps and used the jack like a hand winch or come-along. This was also effective but is very slow going, since even though the jack is 60" long you can really only move an object a little more than half that, the rest of the distance is taken up tensioning the straps. The jack is rated to apply 7000 pounds of pressure and so had no problem moving the stump around. Given the size of my job I got the 60" and I have to say it is pretty heavy and somewhat difficult for one person to manage. I am 6' 225# and sometimes had trouble getting it into position and stable while trying to move the handle, a second person is definitely helpful and sometimes necessary. If your vehicle or jobs don't require a 60" jack you might consider a smaller version. You have to be careful using it because the jack has a relatively narrow base and the jack point is also narrow. You can apply a lot of pressure and if either point is not stable it can shift while under load which can definitely be dangerous. The load can shift or fall, the jack can be flung in an unexpected direction, or the handle can swing violently. This is true of removing stumps or jacking up vehicles or anything else. If you are new to this kind of jack like I was I suggest you watch a few videos about safety and what can go wrong. For example a common mistake is to pick up 2 wheels of a vehicle and have it tip over. You need to keep your face and head out of the path of the handle at all times. It is easy to pinch your fingers in the mechanism and when not under load the carrier can fall abruptly. Overall I consider this a multi-tool useful not only for stumps and cars but lifting or moving anything heavy, winching, or clamping, which I think is a great value for the price.

Very good product
I normally wait until I use something a lot before I do a review. This works as stated and I did bend two of these because I overloaded 1 of them and the other, I let the load shift to the side. Under normal use without abuse it is a very good product and I just purchased another one.

A useful tool for uncomfortable situations
If you're buying this, you most likely know what it's for so I'll skip that part. Build quality: This thing is robust. If you break it, you probably knew at the time that you were possibly going to break it. The failure limits are fairly high but not really in the realm as a hydraulic jack (comparable to come-alongs though). The finish is paint and it's durable. Usefulness: I have used this as a come-along, a lift, and a post puller. In all cases it did was was expected without much of a fuss. Just make sure you keep the instructions around if you have to reconfigure it for a new operation. It's not completely intuitive but the instructions make it clear. Oddly, this is not the tool you want when you need a jack (as in a driveway jack). It is not nearly as stable as a hydraulic jack and can't lift anywhere near as much, but it will get you by in a pinch (exactly what it is for).

As Described, But Needs LIft Mate Accessory to Work with Stock Jeep Wrangler JKU.
I purchased the Hi-Lift for self-rescue when off-roading in my Jeep JKU. The 42" version of the Hi-Lift came wrapped but not boxed and was complete with no missing or broken parts. It operated correctly and was exactly as described. It was easy to lift one corner of the Jeep JKU. After inspecting my Jeep Wrangler JKU, I did discover there are NO reachable lift points on the stock front or rear stock bumpers nor along the stock sides that the Hi-Lift could reach with its short 4.5-inch mouth. The Hi-Lift jack lift surface is only 4.5" long, so it requires steel after-market bumpers. In order to use it with a stock Jeep, the accessory LM-100 Lift-Mate is required, which provides hooks to attach to the wheel to lift the wheel directly. We were concerned that the portion of the jack head that is against the tire might pop the bead of the tire and we saw the tire deflect quite a bit but it did not. Still before using we would probably over-inflate the tire to reduce the risk of popping the bead.

به خدوش، والقاعدة عائمة غير ثابتة، والدهان مكشوط في بعض الأجزاء ويخرج بسهولة مع أول استخدام.
This was delivered with the box destroyed and the base of the jack is floating with a pin. The bare metal is exposed and the paint has been .scrapped

Arrived quickly and is the quality I'd expect from Hi-Lift ...
Arrived quickly and is the quality I'd expect from Hi-Lift, works well on the hinge mount on our Jeep Wrangle JK. The only complaint I have is to do with the position of the mount and jack, on the hinge mount you have to open it enough to get the tailgate glass but if you open it too far it can crush the tail light. Found that out the hard way, not a problem with the jack, just some information for anyone thinking to hinge mount the jack.
