I am currently working through the 4 yellow books and I absolutely love them.My current Elo rating is around 1800, it was around 1960 about 40 years ago before I stopped playing chess completely for nearly 40 years. So I thought that the yellow books might be a bit too easy for me and I could start with the blue ones and work up to the green ones, but actually I am very challenges with the yellow ones. They are very dense and they seem to cover all technical aspects of chess, especially for the middlegame and the endgame.In the meanwhile I came across some rather critical reviews about this series which state that it was mislabelled and were far too challenging for beginners and intermediate players. So, I guess it is okay for me to be challenged with these books. But improving needs some challenges and some serious effort. So I am happy with not finishing every exam (each chapter closes with an exam) with excellent or very good but even fail in part of the exams which means I should work through that chapter again.If you are ok with a book series which brings you to your limits - for expanding these limits - and adresses an Elo range comparingly low, this book abosultely might be for you.One of the best ever chess books I have bouth so far.
