quick fix, fit and worked
After thinking we would have to get the car towed to a repair shop, I found the problem was a faulty switch and had a part the next day. Easy to replace, worked just like the original.

Easy to install. Put in the new bracket too.
Everything you need including the bracket is here. Almost a zero tool installation. It can be done totally by hand but a pair of pliers will save your fingers removing the old bracket. The switch will fit with the old one but since a new one was included, remove and replace the old one. Took 4 minutes. Van now shifts out of park and the brake lights work. I wonder how much this repair would be at the dealership?

Amazing for the price! 2008 Honda Civic.
3 years ago my shifter didn't want to always get out of park. The button wouldn't press every time. It worked about 50% of the time. So, I purchased a genuine Honda replacement switch. 3 years later, I'm having the same problem. Sometimes I can't get out of park. I saw this aftermarket brand for just $6 and thought, well, I'll give it a try. Took seconds to install, and works perfect. How long will it last? I don't know, but, it was super low cost and it is working perfect for now. I still have my other 2 'broken' switches in my glove box just incase I ever need to switch it out in an emergency and get moving. Bottom line, it works.

Perfect replacement at a good price
The brake switch on my 2004 Odyssey broke off while doing some work under the dash.It took a bit of fiddling to realize that the broken off piece could be easily removed by rotating it 90 degrees. The same goes for inserting the new switch. Just rotate it until it goes in easily then set the length about what the old one is. Then rotate it 90 degrees to lock it in place. This part works great.
