Clean Ingredients and Great Quality Protein
I was impressed with the quality of this grass-fed whey protein. The unflavored formula mixes well into smoothies, coffee, or recipes without changing the taste too much. I also appreciate the simple ingredient list and the high protein content per serving. The powder has a smooth texture, blends easily, and doesn't leave a gritty aftertaste. Overall, this is a high-quality protein powder that's a great choice for anyone looking for a clean, versatile, and reliable source of protein.

Honest, detailed review
I've searched for a quality protein source for months, trying many protein powders, and finally found this product. After taking Functional Nutrition courses as a physical therapist, I learned about protein's importance, especially as we age. Many people consume too little protein, including me. The RDA for protein is 0.8g per Kg of body weight. My RD recommended up to 1g per pound of ideal body weight (common for athletes and seniors). That's too much protein for me to eat in a day, thus the need for a quality protein supplement. For me, there are important considerations when choosing a protein supplement, all of which AGN has met. First, the protein is pasture-fed cows certified, never fed antibiotics or hormones. Next, it is third-party tested. If you are a collegiate or pro athlete, you understand the importance of third-party testing. It's tested by Informed Sport, a reputable company known in the sports and dietitian fields, and Informed Protein, another reputable third-party testing company. Each lot is tested for over 250 banned substances, over 400 pesticides, heavy metals, nutrition facts and claim integrity, gluten, and glyphosate. It's also truly grass-fed approved and animal welfare-approved certified. Additionally, it contains no other ingredients except whey protein isolate and non-GMO lecithin (a sunflower-derived emulsifier). I had almost given up finding a protein powder without sugar or sugar substitutes. I also prefer the Isolate form of protein, which refers to a higher quality of purity, indicating additional processing steps to isolate the protein from other components found in milk, such as fat, lactose, and minerals. Isolate whey protein is more concentrated, containing more protein by weight. I found most protein powders contain 20g of protein per 2 scoops, but IGN Roots contains 25g per 2 scoops. That's because it's higher in protein and lower in lactose, making it more digestible. I had noticed a significant increase in gas and bloating with non-isolate whey protein powders, but I have not experienced these symptoms with this product. Further, it contains all 9 essential amino acids, making this a complete protein powder. Some (not all) plant-based protein powders do not carry the full profile of essential amino acids. This is why I chose grass-fed whey protein isolate. I do use a complete plant-based protein powder containing the full spectrum of essential amino acids, but AGN Roots is my top choice. The company owners are from Houston, TX (where I also reside), but the cows are raised in Ireland. I had noticed a review stating we should not trust this product since the owners are not from Ireland. What I trust most are the third-party stamps on my bag of AGN Roots protein powder. I've learned this is crucial because the supplement industry is not regulated by the FDA, ergo, unless any supplement is third-party tested, I cannot be certain of what it contains. Overall, I'm very pleased with this protein powder. I drink 2 scoops in the morning in water, and it's smooth, creamy, and tastes slightly sweet. I also use it in smoothies for lunch after my workout. I highly recommend this protein powder. It meets all my criteria for a safe, reliable, great-tasting protein powder.

Expensive but worth it
Ok, yes, the price isn't cheap but you do get what you pay for with this protein powder. Not all protein powders are the same. Even when it comes to whey, you've got: whey protein isolate vs concentrate, grass fed or not, unflavored vs artificial sweeteners or stevia, etc. The pros here are: clean ingredients, no fillers or sweeteners, responsibly produced product from humanely raised grass-fed cows, easily mixes, virtually no taste/flavor which makes it versatile (you can even bake or make protein pancakes with this stuff and mix it into savory soups and sauces), also it's easy for the body to digest and for the muscles to use. Only con I can think of is the tiny half serving scoop. But that's knit-picky. You just use 2 scoops full or swap it out for the typically-sized scoop (you know you have one somewhere, we all do). And the cost but, it kinda feels worth it to me. I've tried dozens of other protein powders and this is the only one I've ordered at least 5 times and plan to continue ordering. I've given up the search. This is the one for me. My mother has even started using it daily- she who has hated and therefore avoided protein powders as a rule all of her life. Plus, when you compare it to similar products, per ounce there isn't much difference in cost. I've seen others that cost more. Give it a try. If you have something to compare it to, you'll see this is a superior product.

Best Grass Fed Whey Isolate Out There
This is my favorite whey protein. Many cheaper brands I see are whey concentrate. The isolate has less lactose and more protein per gram. AGN Roots also seems to have a superior amount of actual grazing time for the cows and not just meeting the minimum to put it on the label. I would recommend mixing into coffee or smoothies. The flavor with just water isn't that great but is easily covered up by other flavors. One thing I learned with any type of whey and not just this one is DO NOT try to mix it with very hot water or it will denature and be impossible to mix, otherwise it dissolves quite easily. Well worth the price!

Great quality
I've been taking this for 4 months and I do think it is a great way protein isolate, however it is a bit too expensive. I may continue to buy this or find a lesser expensive alternative. This dissolves well, does not make me feel bloated and I like that it is third party tested & grass fed cows

Careful when you order.
The product is wonderful โ creamy and delicious. Just be careful when you order it. The default size is a whopping 48-ounce bag. Fine if you have a couple of people drinking protein shakes every day. But for me, a couple of shakes each week, itโll take me forever to use this up. And itโs so bit, itโs a pain to store.

Best protein on the market
Best whey on the market. Only certified humane high quality protein. Full serving BCAAs. No chemical taste. No bloating. I mix with cocoa powder. Wish I found it earlier. People complaining about the price: it's $3 more per pound than other high quality proteins. If that's a serious impact to your budget, go buy Optimum.

Delicious
I am judging whey based on its suitability to add to my morning hot chocolate, which has some heavy cream, no milk, sometimes some other vitamins or fibers or flavors, and nine times or of ten no sugar. I use a frother with a whisk attachment to mix and start with 145 degree water to keep the whey from curdling. I have a very strong sense of smell, which makes me very picky about most protein sources as they can easily have off-putting smells to me. I have been buying grass-fed whey only. So far, this is the best whey I've tried. It not only doesn't bring down the level of my cocoa flavor, but brings it up. It has a delicious milky flavor. Mixes in very well. The only downside is it is more expensive than others per ounce. If you're not particular about flavor/smell, you can get something cheaper.

From Grass fed milk
Received earlier than expected. Just started consuming it. So far itโs good. Dissolves well in water and no bloating or discomfort. I am using a manual shaker as per their recommendation. No foul smell as it contains no other ingredients. Seems a good whey protein choice as it made from grass fed cow milk. Scoop was inside the packet that I didnโt notice during first week. Hope it will help me recover faster and build more muscles.
