Could these be used on a textured wall or does surface have to be flat?

All the basic wall surface must be flat,dry,clean and firm.Aged wall surface must be painted with water-based seal primer to fix the loose surface.Our product outer package has detailed instructions printed.

I have just put up a narrow plaster board wall. I haven't had it plastered yet do I need to or can these be put straight onto the dry plaster board

You should be fine just to put them straight over the board I used hard as nails to attach mine to the wall but if the tiles are not the exact size of the wall which I doubt they are you will end up with an unfinished part of the wall as if you cut the tile and they are hollow

how sturdy are they. I want to apply to a room with a spa pool and rest the cover against the wall. Will that damage them?

Definitely suitable very rigid and durable just ensure you seal the joins

I got an adhesive from woodies that was also heat resistant as i put them on our fire place. I used EvoStik Technik Rapid Set Flexible Tile Adhesive White 20kg.
