Everything works as promised
Robotics kits is my new passion. I decided to buy this robot car kit attracted by the company. In the description they promised good instructions. After I received the product I was not disappointed. I read reviews. I find them useful. When I saw that this product was so well presented, all components were neatly organized and easily recognizable, and checking them out was a pleasure, I decided to publish a review right away. I copied the files from the included CD ROM to a dedicated folder on my computer and was at first a bit frustrated because the links were not working until I discovered I had to start with user_manual.html. From there everything was accessible, be it assembly instructions, videos, lessons. Users can decide wether or not to skip steps depending on previous experience with Arduino, but the material is extremely well organized and I would not take anything out. The components are very well crafted and the assembly process is a delight, because the purpose of every part is very well explained. The lessons that allow to upload code to the Arduino are well organized. Particularly I was impressed about how well all parts performed together, hardware and software. In my experience with kits from other vendors I’ve spent several hours frustrated, trying to find the solution to different error codes and could not get help from the vendor website. I even tried the Arduino community at no avail. This robot was different. After assembling it I plugged it to my computer, found the corresponding sketch, selected Arduino Uno, the appropriate COMM port and instantly checked syntax, found no flaws, and uploaded the sketch in seconds. Perfect. In my understanding this company takes things seriously, they use good hardware design and good programmers, and debug their software before selling it abroad to make it reliable. Kudos. Other characteristic I found on similar vendors is that they try to impress customers with material that looks as valuable information, but that material makes sense only to experienced hardware and software experts, while it is useless for beginners. On the contrary, the material provided by Osoyoo is all appropriate and valuable. This company was for me a great discovery. If it was possible I'd give them 6 stars. I’m about to become a fan and I will also probably switch to using these kits.

Good parts, Even better customer service
Edit: OSOYOO customer service is top of the line. Within two days of posting the review OSOYOO verified another robot car kit was being sent free of charge to replace the parts missing. No return was needed on the faulty kit either. I'm excited to continue building my car and learning along the way. The kit is very well put together and the parts seem like they are decent, but the unit I received is missing a lot of screws and nuts. I'll have to go to a hardware store before I continue building which is discouraging because it's a very interesting kit to build.

Easy assembly and intro arduino for beginners
This is pretty complete kit that comes with batteries and online video tutorials that will guide you step by step on how to build the car. I was able to go through all the trainings and tutorials in less than 3 hours. Only con is the plastic hardware since it tends to break and heave issues while screwing them.

Well designed and documented product
I bought this robot car kit hoping to interest my grandson in learning about computer hardware and software. The car kit came with a CD ROM containing assembly and operating instructions. I had no experience with Arduino boards so was a bit apprehensive about undertaking the project. However, Osoyoo.com has broken the learning into eight lessons, starting with car assembly then installing different sensors to work with programs (sketches) provided. For each lesson there is a video and also a written guide that takes you through each step of mechanical assembly, software installation and testing. All parts fit and for each lesson we were able to get the robot car to perform as designed. This is a great project for a person interested in learning how electronic and mechanical things work and wanting to learn programming. The instruction provides an environment that uses free and easy-to-use software tools (IDE). After the eighth lesson, we were able to change some program parameters to see the effect on the car's operation and to understand why the original code was written as it was. Oh yes, (rechargeable) batteries and charger included. There are seemingly similar products available on eBay for less money but they are just a bag of parts for an experienced hardware and software technician to create their own project. A beginner would be totally frustrated trying to assemble a bunch of parts and having to write software to make it work. With the Osoyoo robot car you can't go wrong because they have designed a product to make it fun to learn and create a car that works as advertised preparing a student to go on to the next step with robots.

Code does not compile
Assembly was fine, but none of the code you download from the Osoyoo web site compiles. I tried the latest arduino code and even went back to the 1.8.xx version. Nothing compiles. Not sure how there are so many good reviews here. There is no way we are the only people to have these issues. So we either have to learn to program in Arduino or we have a door stop

Great project for young children
I helped my 5 year-old son build this car in phases and we had a great time. The instructions were clear, the videos helpful, the code readable and easy to modify, and all of the pieces we needed were nicely labeled and prepared. The final car itself is neat, but building it was much more fun.

5-star potential, but I feel like we bought an early prototype
Got this for my 12 year old son to learn more about programming and electronics. So far we've only made it through the second lesson, but I feel like I have a good enough grasp of the product to write this review. First of all the good: When you get it the packaging is impressive: A very professional box, with parts set in foam cut-outs, other parts in a "pill divider", etc. The parts appear to be high quality, including custom acrylic body layers, hardware, quality electronic parts, etc. The product, in concept, is really cool. When you get it working, it *is* cool, and works as described (so far anyway) Now the not as good: Our first frustration is that the included CD-ROM has a URL that points to what turned out to be an outdated assembly video. We don't have a CD-ROM drive on our laptop so we went to that URL, which is evidently V1 of the product. It is enough similar that you start following the steps, and then are very confused when you can't find the parts they are talking about. After pulling my hair out trying to get the thing together with my kid, I finally did more googling and found out that there was a "v2" video that we should have been watching instead. So we started following that, which was helpful, until we discovered that the kit was missing quite a bit of the required hardware. For example one bag was labeled "25 2.5mm screws and nuts" and instead only contained nuts (and the screws were nowhere else to be found). We were also short on 3mm screws. Fortunately I do electronics and I had some extra 3mm screws, and I had to buy some 2.5mm ones off of eBay to keep the build going. It was about this point where we discovered the product website contains a step by step tutorial on the build, which was much handier in my opinion than the video. Why didn't the instructions call this out? So we got through the first two "lessons" and the product works as expected. My son has had fun playing with it so far. My only gripe is at least up until now, there is no attempt to teach what is actually going on. You are told "place this component here with these screws, and connect this pin to that pin with a jumper" but no attempt to explain the reasoning. Same goes with the Arduino sketches: you are told to load sample code from the company website and run it. No attempt is made to explain the code, nor is the code commented (or even written) very well to explain to someone how it works. I've been attempting to explain it myself (I'm a software engineer by trade) but I kind of thought this was an educational kit. So... this would be a 5 star review if a) they would include all the hardware, and up date the pointer to the instructions (even better, included printed, full color instructions) and b) include educational materials explaining the concepts behind the electronics.
