Will older track work together with this newer "EZ track"? Are they compatible?** A: Older regular HO track will need to be raised slightly to work correctly with EZ track. You csn use HO foam road bed to make the older track the same height since EZ track has a built in road bed. **Q: my train is starting to slow down. do I need to clean the interior of the train? if so what kind of screwdriver do I need?** A: Dirty track is the more likely culprit. Clean with a damp rag, or use a cleaner sold in a hobby store. I would not recommend opening the engine. These parts are small and fragile, and easily damaged. I would take it into a hobby store, or return to Bachmann for service or replacememt, **Q: Is this train made in America or China?** A: china **Q: Is the train plastic?** A: Plastic with metal parts too ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great model train for beginners *by on Reviewed in the United States January 19, 2023* My 11-year-old son recently got into model trains. That's all he asked for this year for Christmas. I got this set as a base and we added tracks and other Bachmann cars.First off, this set is quick. I expected it to be a little slower because it's made for kids, but I don't think it is.Second, it's still new but the cars glide over the track (both included and purchased separately) smoothly. Every once in awhile, you might need to readjust the car back on the track.Third, it's just plain fun. But you definitely want to consider adding a couple of track pieces. Right out of the box, it only goes in a small circle. We added a couple of straight pieces and some curves when we moved it down to the basement and it's a much bigger track. We've had so much fun with this model train set. This is a great starter set for a younger child looking to get into model railroading. It's more affordable than purchasing tracks, controller, and cars individually, it's easy to use, and it's Thomas. Who doesn't love Thomas? ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Price *by on Reviewed in the United States December 30, 2011* My title for this review just about says everything I can say. The price is great on the Bachmann Trains Thomas with Annie and Clarabel ready to run train set because I could not have purchased it as a gift for my grandson anywhere else for less. The delivery was on time as promised. I have been in model railroading for over 50 years, and when Bachmann first came out with model trains the quality was poor. I started with Lionel O27, then switched to HO, and I now model in N scale. I have some older Bachmann N scale models and my son has some that are newer. They have come a long way in improving their quality since when I purchased some of their N scale products. I think this would be a good starter set for most any youngster 5 years and up. I highly recommend this item, especially if your child is crazy over Thomas. The set is small, only a 36 inch circle of track, but can easily be expanded by purchasing additional track and accessories either through Amazon or your local hobby shop. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Broke within 2 months with less than 3 hours of running. *by on Reviewed in the United States March 14, 2026* I usually write reviews 3-6 months after purchase to ensure they operate as they should. Unfortunately, Thomas train motor burnt out within 2 months of purchase. This is with infrequent use with less than 3 hours of use. I have reached out to Bachmann and will wait for their response and update the review. When the product was working - I would have given it 5 stars.Update: after back and forth - Bachmann US sent me a new replacement. I appreciate their warranty support. ## Frequently Bought Together - Bachmann Trains - Thomas & Friends Thomas with Annie and Clarabel Ready To Run Electric Train Set - HO Scale - Bachmann Trains - Snap-Fit E-Z TRACK 9” STRAIGHT TRACK (4/card) - STEEL ALLOY Rail With Black Roadbed - HO Scale (44411) - Bachmann Trains - Snap-Fit E-Z Track 18” Radius Curved Track (4/card) - Steel Alloy Rail With Black Roadbed - HO Scale --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.pa/products/1631311-thomas-with-annie-and-clarabel-rtr-electric-train-ho-scale](https://www.desertcart.com.pa/products/1631311-thomas-with-annie-and-clarabel-rtr-electric-train-ho-scale) --- *Product available on Desertcart Panama* *Store origin: PA* *Last updated: 2026-10-13*
