WADEO Low Pressure LPG Propane Gas Fireplace Fire Pit Flame Failure Safety Control Valve Kit, Low Pressure Propane Fire Pit Replacement Part with 3/8" Flare Inlet & Outlet

My Hampton Bay (Home Depot house brand) Cross Ridge Gas Fire Pit Table would light, but not stay lit. This kit was suggested by their product support team. The price is right for the kit. The kit has a replacement thermocouple and a propane gas distribution and control unit. No replacement instructions in either the kit or the original product documentation, but the replacement procedure is pretty straight-forward. Tools are crescent adjustable or a 3/4 " open end wrench plus a Phillips head screwdriver. The thermocouple includes a long connecting tube that makes adjusting to a variety of fire pit styles and placements possible. The propane gas lines in the firepit are reused. Part has a standard propane fittings. The control was 90 degrees off from the original so either the control had to be off, or the propane hose connections shifted. I chose to live with the 90 degree rotation in the front control rather than attempt to bend the propane metal hoses into a different configuration. The control works exactly like the original. The job took me about 1 hour +/-. (doing it again would take 20 min.) After replacement the grill works fine, with a better range of control of the flow than the original parts before they broke. 7+ months later: Works far better than original with more precise control and better range (both lower and higher gas flow). Firepit is now more usable and more used. Upgraded review to 5 despite no instructions. Does what a replacement part kit should do -- only better.

This valve and thermocouple was a direct replacement for a Veranda Harmony Classic fire pit. The product installed easily but clearly assumed the customer was knowledgeable about the product and installation procedures and precautions. The product arrived without any supporting information. Primary example was that no guidance about the use of gas rated thread sealer (paste, yellow tape, or ...). Since this a low pressure installation the sealer may not be required, but no guidance is provided. I did chose to use the yellow tape per guidance from other products. No installation guidelines such as “do not .....”, recommendations or access to customer support. I would have given this a five star rating if WADEO had provided any product information - either in hard copy with the product or a link to online information.

WOW! We've watched our fire pit slowly descend into apathy over the last two years. We could get the flame on every time, but it would take *ages* of depressing the knob before it'd catch on the entire flame. Forget putting any rocks over that metal ring; it'd suffocate it immediately. I was getting so frustrated that I was genuinely browsing for new firepits--but they're SO expensive now. This $20 kit fixed ALL of that. It took about 30 min to assemble, but most of that was struggling to disassemble our Hampton Bay firepit's original equipment. Reassembly was pretty fast, except for wrestling with placement of the tubes and copper wire. Once it was all done, we lit it, and WHOOOSH! Fire!! Huge thanks to Wadeo for such a great product; I'm so relieved we fixed this issue, and so easily! Don't wait; you'll wish you'd installed this kit years ago. I sure do!

So you push it in releasing the gas flow. Once its alight you hold for another 20 seconds until the thermocouple warms up. You can then let go and the gas flow is supposed to continue unabated (Its a safety thing). Its function is to close the gas valve if it senses no heat. Well most of the time mine wont work at all or intermittently. After waiting up to a minute to give the thermocouple ample time to warm up I release the valve and the flow of gas just stops. I'm going to try another and I'll update.

We bought this for a 2nd hand fire table. Easy to install and works very well. it has only been on season of nonheavy use, but we are happy with it so far.

We got a free fireplace that had a damaged safety valve kit. . Bought this to fix it, and it was a perfect fit. We've got a brand new firepit. It's also worth mentioning that our firepit is 55000 btu, and this piece works great. Definitely recommend
