Very effective and easy to use
I previously had a different (more expensive) record cleaner but got so bored using it as it was very slow. However, this Project record cleaner is easier, faster and more effective to use. I particularly like the design which holds/protects the record label and means you don’t have to put the record playing surface on a wet/dirty mat! This was the problem with my last record cleaner. The process to clean is very simple. I mixed the cleaning fluid and put it in an old spray bottle so I can accurately apply the solution to the record. You then hold the brush in place while the turntable revolves. You reverse the direction after the initial spin which seems to really help get the record clean (my old cleaner didn’t do this). The vacuum is very powerful and leaves the record sparkling clean. Most importantly, surface noise has become virtually non-existent on my record deck and sound quality is improven with more detail coming through. Very happy!

Excellent Product
This is an excellent vinyl cleaner and a must consideration for the audiophile. The record cleaning machine really cleans the records thoroughly and the vacuum function is also excellent. The results are spotless vinyl with no static. I have a micro line stylus and these styli have maximum contact in the grooves so it it is really important to get your records spotlessly clean and static free. My only minor criticism is that at this price point the optional cover offered should be better ( a black fabric cover) An acrylic cover would be more suitable both at keeping dust out and looking aesthetically better. I had one made by Acrylic Display Covers who make to your exact internal measurements and although clear acrylic does a better job than the fabric option and looks far better. Pro Jext should really offer a smoked grey acrylic cover as an option but this does not detract from an excellent product which i happily give 5 stars

Efficient and well built machine, noisy though

Great at the start.. but poor build quality
Don’t get me wrong.. this machine cleans vinyl fantastically well… for a month or two that is. One day I go to clean a vinyl and the vacuum loses all power and starts to stink of smoke. Brilliant! Not only that.. the rotary wheel has such a significant wobble.. the only reply I get from the seller is ‘does it still clean the vinyl’ Jesus.. I’m now having to go through Pro-ject themselves to sort this mess. If you’re thinking of buying this model don’t… get the vc-s3.. I’ll save you all a headache..

Great piece of gear
Bought this to replace a Record Doctor V, which, after a good few years of service, had started to overheat after just four sides of cleaning. The Pro Ject reduces cleaning time radically…I cleaned a quintuple album in less than ten minutes and that included the time involved in removing and replacing the discs in their respective sleeves. I cleaned an album just last night that, as a youth, I bought and played to death. Cleaned and played…the resulting noise-free result was unbelievable; given the mileage on this record, it had no right to sound so perfect. My only gripe is that if a disc ever needs to be scrubbed hard (and you can scrub them hard with no fear of damage), then there is no support for any major pressure on the record. I’m keeping the Record Doctor V as a scrubbing station for any heavily-soiled records, but I’d suggest buying a Lazy Susan and a microfibre cloth as an equivalent method if you don’t have an older machine to keep as a first stage cleaning area. Regardless, this gets five stars from me; it’s in a different class to most other machines in the same price range and an essential addition to record collector’s arsenal.

Great cleaner, has transformed my vinyl
I’ve been using a manual cleaning kit for a couple of years, but there are a few records it’s just not managed to clean up, so I thought I’d give one of these a try on the strength of reviews here and in HiFi forums and magazines. I’d previously been put off by the price, but it’s equivalent to 20 records, and I’ve bought a few more than that over the years so it seemed a good investment in my collection. I’ve just cleaned some of my most persistently crackly records, and the results are fantastic, they’ve been transformed. It feels very well made and whilst it looks a bit ungainly at first, cleaning is pretty quick and easy. Definitely happy with this - it’s been as worthwhile as upgrading my HiFi would have been.

Game changing
This is the final stage of my cleaning "system" They are big, noisy and hard to store but very effective and very easy to use. Buy ear plugs and an extra goat brush (the bristles fall out of the one supplied). My records are very grateful and so is my stylus and my ears.

A Remarkable Piece of Equipment!
OK, I NEVER wanted to buy one of these. I’ve resisted buying a record-cleaner at every possible juncture. Big, bulky, and ‘messy’. Plus, would it REALLY make a difference? I have a large vinyl collection, and many of my albums are over thirty-years old. A few days ago I was just gutted when one of my favourite albums from the late-80’s just wouldn’t play right. It had been looked-after well, but just looked ‘dirty’ on the surface, and kept ‘jumping’. It shouldn’t have - my turntable is a Linn LP12/Ekos/Adikt. So no problems there. Perhaps the plastic liner of the record sleeve had degraded over the last thirty-years, making the record ‘dirty’? So I ‘bit the bullet’ and bought this Pro-Ject record cleaner. I’m just absolutely flabbergasted! Quite apart from making my ‘unplayable’ records playable, they just sound so much better now. A MUCH quieter background level, and NO clicks n’ pops. The top-end is now so much quieter, and sweeter, especially on my older records. Amazing. This record cleaner is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, especially if like me you have a relatively large collection with many older albums.
