This deserves 6 stars and up !!!
Just "as advertised"; A lot of power, very clear sound. My neighbors got to find that out as well.I imagine it will work for a party of 50 people with no trouble at all. It is kind of big, but to me - that is a good thing :) it gives you the feeling of a "strong " system.I am a fan of Harman/Kardon - for their reach sound, however this system has not disappointed me in any way; like I said earlier I am very impressed with what it does. The smartphone app works great on my S6Active.The one thing everybody should be aware of, is that the Shake 33 has no karaoke feature. You would need additional equipment (microphones, amplifier, mixer etc.) that can be plugged in one of inputs in the backI also attached a couple of pics with a "media stand " I custom built. After using it for two weeks I can say once again, this system it's great for a household; I definitely recommend it; I would definitely buy it again.

Good for Shelf System
Favorable points:- Excellent sound quality lives up to Sony standard, very crisp/clear with no distortion or static- Good three-way balance of low/mid/high ranges, strong party bass with bazuka feature on- Easy setup- Good input functions supported - BT / CD / USB / External audio line in- Easy to connect and stream from BT such as from a smart phone- LED lights are entertaining and good for party settings (might also make a good substitute for Pet TV to keep your pets entertained)Unfavorable points:- Short, non-standard wiring does not allow flexibility in speaker placement; longer standard wires (i.e. RCA) cannot be substituted- Actual volume does not realistically rate 2200W compared to legacy audio equipment, but good enough for TV theater audio; was expecting more power; maybe the actual rating is 220.0W mean?- Selection of tracks and configuration of playlists from USB is tedious and difficult, arrange your tracks in folders to facilitate song play lists - this is an easy fix to this shortcoming.- No digital audio input to support standard digital audio from TV/stereo (this would be a good improvement, though you can generally connect to a TV through the dual RCA connectors)Commentary:I originally bought this for a bedroom shelf system, but the speakers were too big. After going to Best Buy to size up and hear the LBT-GPX555 1800W system, I bought the LBT-GPX555 for the bedroom. (Don't get it at Best Buy, Amazon has it for about $50 less right now.) I am actually pretty pleased with the LBT-GPX555 for the bedroom and it has great sound quality too, but the same shortcoming on rated power. I decided to use the SHAKE-33 for the family room TV / entertainment center as a space saver (it fit nicely within the towers of the entertainment center) and for a sound-quality upgrade from my old tower-style speakers. It could be louder for music (not as loud as my prior Onkyo amplifier / speaker combo), but it is loud enough for TV theater - remember it is a "shelf" system! I may get the SHAKE-55 and daisy chain it with the SHAKE-33 to increase sound volume for entertainment and party occasions. I generally like high quality audio and this system strikes a good balance between quality audio, simplicity and compactness. The sound quality across a wide range of music genres - jazz, classical, acoustic & electric blues, rock, latin, dance - was great across the board. The only thing I would advise if you get this system is that you try the different EQ settings for different styles of music to find the one that works best; don't get disappointed if your music sounds flat under several of the EQ settings, find the EQ setting that works best by experimenting and it will sound good. Also, some of the EQ labels are misleading for what style / sound texture of music they mate with well. My rating dinged the five star to four for the shortfall in sound power versus my expectations with the advertised 2200W rating.

One Star
The wires are too short and the volume is too low

Not so great. Should have held out for a better stereo system

Sony Sound Approved!!!
This system is AWESOME!!! I bought it for my tailgating but will use as TV sound in my man cave! Sound is a bit boxy but not bad at all. Not bad enough for me to move down to 4 stars...and I like my sound! The LED are really cool. I like this unit a lot better than the Samsung Giga! The sound is better IMO and the features are are simple to control. The Sony app that allows you to control everything with this system eliminates the need for an additional remote control (AMAZING!!!) I also like the ability to keep one LED color (not sure if the Giga can but it didnt when I tested).Great system and of course it was boxed for shipping with no issue's. Nothing much else to say about it!

Sony Shake 33
To start off this thing is a very nice system. It can produce house shaking bass and is loud enough that the vocals can be heard from any where in your house and around your house. They did a very nice job with the lights on the receiver and the speakers. with all of the different light modes and colors you can practically see the beat of the music. The entire system very user friendly and I would recommend it to everone. However there were some things that could have been better. My biggest issue with it is the bass. Any bass above 35hz is so loud that it can hurt your ears. But when the bass drops below 35hz it can barley be heard even at a high volume. Another thing is the overall volume. I don't really know if the receiver is pushing out the full 2200 watts that it claims but it doesn't sound as loud as I expected. The speakers themselves seem like they could handle even more power than what the receiver is putting out so I'm pretty sure it's not at a full 2200w. The bass is really loud but the volume lacks expectations when it come to the treble. Nevertheless this is simply a big, fun, bright, and loud system that should satisfy most people's needs.

The sony shake 33 is a pretty good system
The sony shake 33 is a pretty good system. Well as long as you're a bit of a bass head. Where this system really lacks is in the mids sadly and It definitely doesn't sound balance to say the least. If your just and average listener who like some powerful bass then I'm sure you'll like the shake 33. However if you're a little more serious about your sound quality I would look into different options for the money. Overall I like the system for listen to rap, pop, basically anything with bass. So anyone who's into Rock, Classical, and some Christian, check out different options.
