A stainless teapot should not rust inside, but for some reason they do, it seems, according to the review(s). The handle did not get hot for me like it did for others, but the flip top of the pour spout does, so please remember to use a towel, or mitt on the spout tip before pouring. Would make a great gift. Once I started making sure that the lid was pressed in place properly the whistle seems to work better. I have removed the part of my original review that stated the whistle was too quiet. For example, one reviewer said that the whistle was loud enough for her to hear it in the next room and another said that the whistle is softer than other teapots. Someone else said that the inside was rusting because they left water in it all the time and another said that the spout got too hot. I have had my kettle for a month now, I use it everyday and always leave water in it, yet there's no rust. Also, my spout doesn't get too hot that I can't flip it open with my bare fingers, and I don't need to use n oven mitt or tea towel to grab the handle and lift the hot kettle. Keep in mind though that I flip the spout open fairly quickly, so my finger or thumb is not resting on the spout, hence it never gets hot. Some people may be more sensitive than me. Overall I really like the kettle. The color is just as it appears on my monitor and it works exactly like it's supposed to.
