A: I am not familiar with the Shimano SH-AM 501 MTB shoe to be able to answer your question.

A: Having seen the MTS, and owning similar Shimano shoes with the SPS conversion, I can say confidently that these will work. Keep in mind that there may be a little variance and not an identical fit, small gaps may be present. If a little large, one can file the rubber to improve the fit. They worked for me.

**Q: will these work on shimano spd, cleat is sm-sh55?**
A: Yes, they should work on any SPD shoe. They work on Pearl Izumi shoes for sure. They could be trimmed if too big for cleat recess.

For a lot of reasons (mainly because I had a very bad crash), I've decided to go to flat pedals, well, I found these to fill in the void where the cleats go, and they are awesome!They came with Phillips head screws, so I decided to use the screws from the Shimano cleats, buuut, I could feel the very tip of them when I tried walking in my shoes, so I'm going to have to find shorter screws, or just go with the provided ones. Although these aren't sticky rubber like the soles on my 510 shoes, they aren't hard either. They're a nice somewhat soft and grippy rubber.I'll update when I finally get to ride them.
