Would this work for a 12v 50 ah battery on ryobi mower? description says "100a load test for 12v batteries; 50a load test for 6v batteries"

The short answer is probably not. The system uses advanced algorithms to test batteries and is designed for specific battery loads which measures internal characteristics of the battery and infers the battery's CCA output and health based on a certain range of battery. Outside that range and the electronic battery tester will be ineffective. Your best bet is to purchase a carbon pile or cheaper resistance type ($25) battery tester for such a small battery.
