6V Replace 4 AA Battery Eliminator

I bought this for an older Hive thermostat that takes four AA batteries (the one with the rotary dial). It goes through batteries quite quickly. The supplied fake batteries fit perfectly and I carefully slotted the powered battery into the bottom. Plugged it in and it is working perfectly. I’ll see how long it lasts but for the moment it is as if I’d installed new batteries. Since I don’t move the unit around the delicate looking battery cable shouldn’t get damaged. Recommended!

I used it for my battery powered mirror with lights. The design of my mirror was poorly made as the battery was situated behind the middle panel hence difficult to get to the switch when put against the wall. I bought this plus an on-off switch (since my sockets are behind my dressing table) and now I can use my lights with ease and not worry about my batteries running out.

When my batteries in my Hive Thermostat started to weaken, it had trouble connecting to the hub and the boiler unit resulting in different errors including inability for the mobile app to work due to this. So I was amazed to find this product to solve the problem with Hive Thermostat systems. The product was really simple to setup and get working, as soon as I switched to this solution, full power was restored and the wifi comms and app all started to work again. This is a great product and compared to the price of batteries, it pays for itself in little time. The best part is because the comms are restored because there is full power, all the schedules operate flawlessly, my wife no longer complains that there's no hot water when she wants a bath in the evening :)

So easy to put into the existing battery packs of Xmas lights. Now I can put them on mains with timer!

Got a automatic opening bin a few years ago which takes 4 AA batteries (Duracell ultra, anything less and the batteries only lasted a week!) and they only last about a month before it got to the point where the lid barely opens! It was costing me a fortune! This has changed the game though, absolutely brilliant! Now it works 100%, 100% of the time! and it's a 1 off cost that is also cheaper than buying a pack of batteries.

Provides the right voltage but is not a clean dc feed there is noise on it, I tryed it with a radio set clock and it could not hear the msf time signal when powerd with this set, a set from another maker works fine. So ok if you only want the voltage.

Does not work with cat flap at all, but I have been able to repurpose it for a auto-open bin so that's why I didn't send it back.

I was sceptical about this product but decided to take a punt. I am very happy with the performance. It is a simple idea of having one powered battery and a number of dummy batteries that are basically just short circuits. I used the 6v 4 battery model to power a camera macro light ring in a lab set up. The cable feeding power to the live battery is a very thin flexible circuit that will fit through the slightest gap. I expected to have to modify the battery compartment to get power into it so was pleasantly surprised there was no need to. Happy with the performance. Although I'd recommend you check the power requirements of your device. As the supplied power supply may not deliver enough current for very power hungry applications.

This unit ships with UK wall plug by default, with no other options for other wall outlets. The wall plug is replaceable, but it's a "clip-on" connector, not the "slide-on" and lock which is the standard here. The unit looks promising like it could have addressed my needs but never got to give it a shot.

They selling uk plugs for Australia... it's ridiculous. This product shouldn't be on Australia Amazon!
