Revived My Old Laptop
I have an old thinkpad laptop without hdmi out. I needed a way to output to my tv to make zoom meetings easier to see for the family. This little adapter arrived. I plugged one end into the multi display port on the laptop and the other to an hdmi cable connected to the telly. Bing! Laptop screen on the tv with full audio. Perfect. Feels well made, all connections are solid. No hesitation in recommending.

Disappointed!
I am clearly disappointed with this product as it does not even last 6 months. It does not work anymore after 4-5 months of usage. I would not recommend it to anyone.

Well made
Bought a pair of these so I can connect two monitors to a Surface Dock and to my Surface Laptop. They work great and are well made. Super happy about the quality. Will look to buy other Benfei products in the future.

NOT Thunderbolt “compatible”. NOT Bi-Directional

This does NOT. This is NOT BI-DIRECTIONAL which is the beauty of Thunderbolt! Anything less is just mini Display Port. This is less. Okay, if you want a connector that fits in your Thunderbolt hole and will take that OUTPUT to your TV, projector etc., then this will work. BUT, if you want to SEND HDMI (from a camera for example) to Thunderbolt as a high octane INPUT, then no. That means it is a mini Display Port connector and NOT Thunderbolt. They are NOT THE SAME THING! Thunderbolt = Bi-Directional (both directions) Mini Display Port = one direction only This is mini Display Port. I know it says that in the title, but it also says Thunderbolt which is a technology this cable is only HALF compatible with. To be fair, it does actually say not bi-directional somewhere, but you have to dig for it.
