Q: I want to use this as a midi input device with finale - will this work with finale as an input device on my pc?

Yes. Its MIDI. But you should consider XKey (wired) or XKey Air (Bluetooth MIDI). They are more compact and overall look just like regular computer keyboard :)

Q: Can I connect this midi to my standard irig interface?

Yes this works with all irig software and ipad music apps, you do sometimes have make sure it is selected in the setting of some of the apps and also once in awhile it may lock up just unplug it and plug it back and it restores it.

Q: How can i be sure i’m getting the irig keys pro 2 (universal) and not the irig keys 2 pro (usb)? i want this specifically for use with my ipad pro.

The iRig Keys 2 series only offers different sizes, they are all universal. The iRig Keys 2 Mini, iRig Keys 2 and iRig Keys 2 Pro will all work across platforms or without a connected device (As a MIDI controller) when connecting power to the USB port.
