Merckens Milk Chocolate - PACK OF 2

This is not chocolate. its not made with cocoa butter as stated in the description but instead made with palm oils. A product cannot be called chocolate unless its made with cocoa butter per FDA regulations. It also tastes like hot garbage

I make candy constantly during the year. I have my suppliers for large bulk orders but when I need a quick order I will order here or I will head to the craft store for the small bags of wafers. In this case, I needed a quick couple of pounds and ordered Merckens. I've never used their wafers before, so this was completely new. I melt my wafers in an electric melting pot, I do NOT use a microwave because if heated too quickly or too hot, the chocolate will immediately get lumpy and the flavor will change. I've been doing this for nearly 20 years now, so trust me, if you're getting weird flavors from these wafers, try changing your heating methods a bit.It arrived, and this is only the beginning of May, partly melted. Thank you Fedex. I stuck it in the fridge for an hour, took it out, cut it up into small hunks and it melted fine and there was no appreciable change in flavor. In this case, with this particular bag, I made chocolate/peanut butter cups. I always use a brush to make sure the chocolate is evenly spread on the sides of the cups. This chocolate stayed in a good consistency throughout this process and the cups are being eaten as I write.I've found that most people who try to use chocolate wafers don't watch the temperature of the chocolate when it is melting, thus causing the chocolate to change in both consistency and flavor. In this case, my melting pot and I loved this order of chocolate and I will not hesitate to order it again.

I ordered Merckens Milk Chocolate and Dark Chocolate Wafers for candy making from Larks Cake and Candy. Ordering was easy and pricing was the best I found on the web. I received the chocolate in a timely manner and apart from being melted, it was in good condition. The melting in transit does not affect the final product, as the company was quick to assure me when I emailed them. It just made it a little more difficult to use since instead of pouring out wafers, I had to hack off chunks.The chocolate was terrific. It was creamy and melted like a dream. The flavor of both kinds was rich and delicious. I used it to make "bark" on a tree stump shaped cake. Then, I painted more chocolate over the "bark" to set it. The cake was fabulous! I also used it to make chocolate leaves and they worked beautifully. I didn't have any of the breaking or melting problems I had with other chocolates.

Merckens chocolates and Candy is great! I needed chocolate for making cake pops and covered oreos.I used other brands and the chocolate clumped up and was so hard to work with. Well Merckens actually melts real easy has a nice liquidy flow to it! easy to cover my cake pops and sets up wonderfully! So impressed with this candy that I won't try any other! The taste is hands down so much better than others I have tried.

Not sure what has happened to the Merckens brand but the chocolate this round has not been up to the quality it usually is. Instead of wonderful, authentic-tasting chocolate, it tastes like corn syrup and fake sugar! Would not recommend buying again, this coming from a family that has been using Merckens for 7 years for our Christmas treats.

I bought this chocolate a few months ago with the intention of making chocolate covered foods (strawberries, cake pops, etc) and chocolate molds. It was a bit of an experiment to see if I could do a decent job. Well, this chocolate worked perfectly. And it tested great! The chocolate melted beautifully and evenly. It stuck to the foods in just the right amount of thickness. I used Wilton's silicone cup to microwave in the oven (no double boiler necessary!). I used 50% power for a little over 2 minutes, stopping every minute to check on chocolate and give it a stir. I dipped my strawberries and laid them on parchment paper to cool (on a cookie sheet). With the extra chocolate, I poured it into chocolate molds (a bumpy alligator mold to be exact). I moved both items to the refrigerator for quick cooking and voila they were perfect. The strawberries looked great and came off parchment paper with ease. They also tasted great, very professional. Also, the chocolate popped out of the molds cleanly. Not a bump left behind. And the chocolate looked shiny and pretty. I was so proud of myself! Now I'm going to save serious $$ making chocolate covered strawberries and cake pops on my own.

I received my 2 lb bag of Merckens milk chocolate today and delivery was fast. Very pleased with the taste and freshness. I will definitely order more and in other color's for making party candy favors You will not be disappointed with the quality. I would rate it 10 stars 😊

My Uncle makes chocolate covered peanuts for Christmas every year, and this year he told me his secret is this chocolate. It melts easy and doesn't have a waxy taste or feel in your mouth. Wonderful flavor and highly recommend this brand for baking!
