I have had 2 long range auto start systems previously *by R***O on Reviewed in the United States on April 26, 2020* 12-2020, UPDATE... I bought and installed the cellular module for my RAV4 and am very happy with it. It is 2 way communication and shows me the status of start, etc. at work, I park is a cellular dead zone and it does start the car fine but has an issue confirming the start. Not a deal breaker for me........ (original review...... Here is the situation. The wife and I have 2014 and 2015 Toyotas. One of the most difficult or crappy things I get to do is remove crappy and badly installed aftermarket items to cars that fail or were installed improperly. these are (basically) plug and play without hurting any of the factory wiring. There are a few wires and a ground that need to be attached to the vehicle because vehicles vary. Since they use the factory key, range is a major limitation. I did not want to purchase the cellular module as information on it's connections was not explained and there is a subscription... also, not all cellular functions would be available as the remote start is not connected to the systems that the cellular system can operate. Just not fully compatible. The last vehicle my wife owned that I put a remote start in had a range of 1/4 mile. She could start her car from the 6th floor to the parking garage easily and reliably. YES, there was a considerable amount of wire and connections and hours of work as a Technician BUT having a remote start that only has feet of range seems to not serve the purpose of a remote start. For her car (2014 Camry), once the vehicle is started and running, it ignores the remote so shut off and door unlocking just doesnt work. you need to put the key in the door to enter the vehicle (design of Toyota itself for that model). My 2015 Rav4 will allow the remote to unlock the vehicle and since I mostly use the remote start to warm up car in the driveway... this works for my needs. But at work, it is pointless to walk out to the parking lot to be within range (about 3 cars away) then walk back in and let it warm up. As things are, I will rarely use this on my vehicle and I can't see her using hers ever. ultimately wasted money and these things are not cheap. The star rating is not a reflection on the product itself... it has complications but does work.... my experience is also with product support, I had these two modules for weeks and could not install either well past the Christmas Holidays because there were no instructions included and BOTH units were shoved into one box then shipped to me. BOTH were for a Toyota and NEITHER had any instructions for which Toyota it fit. The invoice had part numbers that did not match either unit.... SO, I had NO way of getting this done without their help. The main wiring harnesses are very similar as both vehicles had very similar wiring and connections. I contacted sales and tech support MULTIPLE times for this information over the course of weeks until I finally got "Patricia" on the phone and she helped me sort it all out, She was great. The overall experience with these units is NOT so great. ### ⭐⭐ Its OK. But I dont appreciate being lied to. *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2020* Before I purchased this product I asked the seller if this was all I needed to remote start my car and he said yes, thats all I needed. Nothing else. That was a lie. Cuz in order to open the car door after remote starting it, I had to use the key turn off the car when I stepped on the break and restart again with the key. So I also had to buy the link updater thing, and also a Fortin remote in order to unlock car door after remote starting it. So I didnt like being lied to. The product had already cost me $250.00+. And now $50.00 nore for the updater and another $60.00 for the Fortin remote. ### ⭐ Complete failure *by C***E on Reviewed in the United States on January 26, 2020* This unit is not plug and play. Requires a half dozen splices to be made, not the end of the world, but plug and play is far from accurate. I printed the vehicle specific instructions from their site. They look like someone made them with their eyes closed. The instructions contain inaccuracies about their own hardware and invalid information for the vehicle. Even after finding correct wiring information from Toyota, this unit does not operate or bypass OEM security properly. Now I'm responsible for return shipping on a defective product??!! This operation is a joke.
