Lock picking is the skill of security professionals and hobbyists. Lock picking is a non-destructive way to open a lock without using the original key. You can choose the most suitable tool according to the type of lock. Pick your first practice transparent lock by following the step-by-step instructions or search the videos in youtube. One of the fastest ways to make progress when opening locks is to know exactly which steps need to be performed in which order 3 Transparent Practice Locks It would be easy if you know which exercise lock you should focus on first. These 3 locks give you the plentiful lessons and prepare you for the next practice lock! Level 1: Padlock The Transparent lock is absolutely the first lock you should ever consider getting as a beginning lock picker. It have comprehensible tolerances meaning finding and setting binding pins is especially easy. However, it will lay an important foundation for each method to be built upon. Level 2: Cylinder Lock The Lock utilize a rotating cylinder drives, the door frame can't be retracted until the locking cylinder rotated once again. It is much more resilient to brute force attacks and are impervious to shimming. You can test the security of your deadbolt through learning lock picking. Level 3-4: Double-side Lock This 2-in-1 door lick offers a double challenge, one side is harder than the other. But this shape of keyhole is the elementary level inside the double-sided lock, but more difficult than padlocks. You can think of this as a cornerstone for exploring Double-side locks. Different Hook Tools It behaves similarly to the key that we can use to move the plug rotation lever to keep the pens on the shear line when selecting. If we slightly tighten the wrench, the binding pin prevents the plug from rotating. Review: Excellent set for beginners, either as an educational toy or a tool. - My 12 year old son requested a lock picking set recently. I had mixed feelings, as I wasn't at all sure he was going to be able to figure out how to work it, but in matter of minutes he had the first lock opened. The cylinder was most difficult... and as we found when his older brother had a go, you can mess it up if you try to use the keys on two sides at once. It can be realigned, but it takes some time. Once they have the hang of it though, even this lock can be opened very quickly. It wasn't long before my son was running about looking for other locks to open, and opening them very quickly as well. Unfortunately, my husband refused to let him try the car, and the locks he has been opening are not the expensive anti theft locks that have protections against lock picking, but just simple cheap padlocks we had laying about. I am hoping to get a mechanic friend to pick me up some old car locks when he visits a junkyard again. We chose this set because it had the most parts. We knew nothing about lock picking and just thought the more parts the better. Thankfully, we seem to have chosen well. This set has three practice locks. They are clear so you can see all the pins and workings. Each lock also has a black silicone cover which can be used to cover the lock once you have mastered picking the lock while everything is visible. You also get 12 numbered picks, each of which has a different shape and 5 different form wrench tools, 1 object called a broken key which will pick some locks , and y shaped pinched called a turnbuckle extractor. The final item is the only one we haven't quite figured out how to use. All the tools fit nicely into a wallet type case, while the practice locks and metadata fit into their own small plastic cases. I am especially thankful the tools do have their own case as otherwise I am sure one would end up lost eventually. I found the practice locks quite solid and heavy and they seem very sturdy. The tools seem good quality, but are by necessity thin. I have no doubt they could be snapped if enough brute force were applied, so younger children may require some supervision when they first start using the kit. It does require a bit of concentration and patience as you first start out. I bought the set because I feel puzzle time games, and thinks which require thought and concentration help children's minds develop to their fullest potential. Believe it or not, the toys a child plays with have been found to contribute significantly to how the brain develops. I also want something my son could do besides video games and books while stuck in the house. He has been very ill and not able to do a lot of normal child activities for some time. And finally, I thought it might add some extra fun to our dungeons and dragons games. It is a role playing game, and I thought it would be much more fun to have him try to pick and actual lock in a short period of time then just roll the dice to see if it works. I am absolutely delighted with the set, my son had a very enjoyable hour or so playing with it, and I am sure it will add to the fun in other games. My older son was also fascinated with it, and my youngest son was delighted that it took him longer to figure it all out. That said, the oldest didn't have the instructions. Even my husband wanted a go, but my son packed it all up and took it up to his room before going to bed. My only complaint with this set is a very minor one. I do wish it had included one much harder lock, or even rating information on the various practice locks the company sells. If I knew certain ones had a higher difficulty rating , I would be happy to purchase more. But I guess we will have to make do with real locks. I would also suggest that parents buying this for Christmas include at least one real lock, or have an old lock or two handy as I think any child is going to want to try out their new skills on a real lock after mastering the practice ones. And of course, quite obviously, this could be used for nefarious purposes as well. As I said, this definitely can be used for real locks. Parents who have doubts as to why a child wants this might want to make sure it is only used in the home. But with all the time we have lost keys, I could see this being quite useful for opening real locks if we lock ourselves out of anything again. Finally, I don't know if it possible to damage a lock with this, so we haven't allowed them to try the house lock, which is a special security lock with bolts going into the ground, so I would hope they couldn't pick it, or the car lock. We will get some old ones for practice instead, unless we are completely locked out.
Review: Nice tools in a zip-up carry case. Three different transparent locks to show the internals. - Good educational toy. Bought a as a present for someone and they absolutely love messing around with it every so often. It’s a great fun skill to learn. Comes with a good bunch of different shapes and sized set of steel picks and tools to wiggle around in the locks. And also comes with three different types of transparent locks with their matching keys so you can see what’s happening inside when the key is inserted, and when the pick tools are inserted. This is very useful so you can see how the internal parts of a lock operates and what needs to be pressed and juggled around to unlock them. The instruction booklets is a simple basic guide but doesn’t offer comprehensive instructions on how to pick these locks. You’d be better off going on YouTube and watching some tutorial videos whilst having these locks and picks in front of you so you can watch and purest for yourself at the same time. Quality seems alright, nothing has broken or work out as of yet. The tools come in a nice zip-up carry pouch. And each lock comes in a nice hard plastic case with a set of two keys per lock. Overall very happy with this, my brother and I have both been having a go at learning to pick the locks and it’s great fun if you have that patience, requires great skills to get it right. It’s an art picking a lock.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not bad at all ....
*by H***4 on 12 January 2021*

This is a great set for beginners and perhaps even intermediates. The picks appear well made and the inclusion of the 3 different types of locks with the removable covers is an excellent addition, which adds an extra dimension. The selection of torsion wrenches is OK but undoubtedly the set would benefit from the inclusion of some smaller/thinner ones too. The carry case is not as compact as it might be but this is off set by the large section of picks. Other sets of a similar size include a further flap inside to store wrenches, split keys etc. In this set they have no specific slot. However, overall a fun set and good value.
