We found these that are steel and decided to buy them. A couple weeks ago we went camping along the same river that the previous oar broke and we were able to test these out and they worked great! The length is perfect both for when I inserted them into the par holders on the raft and when I used them outside of the holders. We floated about 5-6 miles and had multiple times where the river was a little low and we needed to use the oar to help push over the river bottom as well as times where we had to use the oars as a tool to keep from running into the sides of the river or longs/branches. The oars did great. They are very sturdy and held up without an issue. I’d highly recommend these as a great quality and low cost option. These fit the bill because they take up very little space when disassembled. They are easy to put together and surprisingly durable for being so lightweight. The weight of them is a huge plus for me. I am just a casual user who has MS, anything heavier might keep me from doing what I love. I don't think these are made for extreme use, rapid water or competition.
