Simple Kneads, Bread Sourdough Gluten Free, 21 Ounce

I am a former professional baker and when I discovered my stomach issues were due to wheat, I was devastated. Needless to say, I've taken my search for a tasty gluten free bread very seriously over the past two years and, thus far, Simple Kneads is by far the best. NOTE: This bread is best when warmed up or toasted. If it is cold and made into a sandwich for eating at work for lunch, it gets kind of crumbly. That is the only downside in my opinion, but I would much rather have that be the issue than eat a bread filled with weirds gums that leave a strange aftertaste and texture in my mouth. This bread actually tastes like a fermented sourdough (because it is) which is a far superior flavor in my opinion than the bland gf breads on the shelves. If you are able to find this brand in your area, I highly recommend giving it a try.

I was very excited about this purchase but was greatly disappointed in end. First off the bread is the size of a softball with very thin slices. It is extremely dence and dry. The taste is a whole other issue. The flavor is absurd, its sour like sourdough but has peanut maple syrup rasin flavor concoction. The flavor is awful but the after taste is even worse. After drinking a gallon of water I still couldn't get the sour artifical after taste out of my mouth. I won't recommend this bread to my friends, family or even my worst enemy. Don't waste your money!!! This bread is the WORST.

Oh boy what a tasty treat! Never had anything like it in my life. Knowing its high nutritional value and strict adherence to its healthy ingredients made me feel no regrets about this purchase. Worth every penny!

Kinda small loaf. Holds together ok. Smells like sour mash! Taste is kinda whole grainish. The buckwheat flavor comes through a bit. Not my favorite flavor. If you can't go anywhere near gluten and wheat, it's a reasonable choice. I can have spelt sourdough, so sticking with that.

I let myself pay a ridiculous price for a single loaf of bread with the idea that I was going to experience an amazing sourdough bread, which is not typically possible having celiac. The picture makes the bread look like a normal sized loaf of bread, when it's actually just slightly bigger than a soup bowl. The texture is fine, but the taste is not sourdough and only passable as toast. This was a huge disappointment, and I'm bummed I wasted my money on this. Learn from my mistake and don't buy it.

It tastes good but, most of it was split almost in half so it was hard to do anything with it, rather sandwich or toast...And to expensive for a half a small loaf.

This is delicious GF bread. It's dense, and you have to toast it. If you crave sourdough taste, go for it. Buy when it goes on sale. Makes great grilled vegan cheese! There's no perfect GF bread world, but this comes close. If you're looking for airy and light, go for those loaves that are trying to mimic gluten bread. This is honest and not filled with weird ingredients or dough enhancers. Also love the pumpernickel (they call it something else.)

Sorry is nothing like the San Francisco Sour Dough Bread. Didn't even taste like sourdough.
