I chose the 10 inch size, used a flat head nail [into drywall], & have it hanging low on a [9 foot wide] wall gallery. One caution: after the clock was in place, the hands weren’t moving & I ‘panicked’, but no problem! The minute/hour hands were slightly touching & it only took the SLIGHTEST tap to separate them enough for clearance. I’ve had the clock for 2 weeks & it has been keeping perfect time.
