It works well without using the light if in a bright enough space and lights up nicely in the evening or when working with dark yarn. It’s also perfectly even in magnification and you have no wavy or less clear sections that I’ve seen with other magnifiers. Fits into a larger purse and packs very well in n a suitcase or under-the-seat size bag on airplanes. Bumped it down to a 4 because it does occasionally fall flat if I move around in my chair.
