La Florentine Torrone Assortment Box 7.62oz

I like these candies, but they are no longer sold in my local Italian deli market. My only issue is that the cardboard outer box is very flimsy. Inner candy boxes nice and sturdy as usual.

The orders of La Florentine Torrone arrived in perfect condition. Candy is fresh- just like I remember from my childhood days with my Northern Italian family get togethers. Priced fairly as well. Excellente!

This is a delicious Italian candy that is enjoyed by most. Having tasted and appreciated it for years, I can recommend it for anyone who has never tried it. Being Italian, I was always gifted with a box for Christmas or have given this gift to others for years.

I had no idea how this Italian florentine tasted like. I can assure you I was so pleasantly surprised I have never had this type of candy so fresh with such wonderful flavors.

My mom has a thing for soft Italian nougat - or Torrone as it is called. Every holiday either me or the kids insist on picking her up a couple bars of Torrone from our local CP World Market store. Unfortunately, once January or early February hits, her nougat stock plummets and she's left with nougat withdrawal until December rolls around again since no one sells Italian nougat outside of the holidays. After a search on Amazon, I was happy to discover that there are several varieties of nougat available, including La Florentine, and I bought her a variety for Mother's Day. The La Florentine Torrone was very well received by my mom. The nougat comes in three different flavors including vanilla, orange, and lemon. Each piece is individually wrapped and boxed within the larger gift box. My mom liked this for two reasons - one, because the nougat is portioned out, she's less likely to eat too much in one sitting, and two, she could share the nougat with everyone and everyone got their own little box. The nougat itself is pleasantly sweet, is full of crunchy almonds, and is nicely flavored of either vanilla, orange, or lemon. My favorite was the lemon, and I really enjoyed how the nougat was soft and chewy. Each nougat piece is sandwiched between a thin, flaky wafer - that wafer is edible, so don't try peeling it off! Overall, this is a really lovely box of nougats to gift. The candy is delicious and beautifully boxed. I definitely would buy this again for my mom.

This brand of Torrone nougats were a must have for Thanksgiving & Christmas when I was growing up. After the Holiday meal table was cleared, the aluminum nut bowls filled with fresh seasonal nuts, complete with their nut crackers & nut picks were set at each end of the table, along with fresh tangerines. Tiny stemmed glasses for Anisette were passed around the table as a “digestive” for each person. Nut cracking & lots of story telling continued for an hour or more. The Torrone soon followed, each person taking only one or two tiny boxes of their favorite flavor and commenting how good the Torrone tasted. I always peeled the wafer covering from my nougats & ate them last. I haven’t had these nougats in many years so I treated myself and bought a box. They are smaller than I remember and the wafer covering is so much thinner. BUT they are just as delicious as I remember them being, soft and fresh with a good quantity of nuts and not sickening sweet. I’m forcing myself to stay out of the box as I plan to share these Italian nougats with friends who have never had these treats before. Although these are a bit pricey, I hope Amazon will have the La Florentine Torrones again next year, weeks earlier so I can have them in time for Thanksgiving.
