Finest Thermostat At Any Price
The is the finest thermostat available at any price. I have tried them all on my 383 small block Chevy engines. The Edelbrock "high flow" was rated at 180. It was made in China and opened at 160 degrees. The Mr Gasket balanced design, also made in China, a copy of the Robert Shaw balanced design. When tested in boiling water, it did not open evenly. It only opened on one side. The Flow Cooler "Robert Shaw" balanced. Country of origin unknown. The design is such that it does not maintain temp consistently and appears somewhat restrictive. The Superstat, made in Israel, is a quality piece, constructed from stainless steel. It is dead nuts accurate. I have the fans kick on at 195 in traffic. The engine will cool down to 178, at which point the thermostat closes. Plenty of flow and stays cool on the highway.

Superstat saves the day-Every day...........
I installed this in my 2001 Jeep TJ Auto with A/C. I installed it in conjunction with a new Flowcooler H2O pump and a Griffin Al dual core Aluminum Radiator with a Spal 16" Puller fan controlled by Delta Current Controls FK75 Module(Not,I repeat, Not a relay with a fuse) Temps in summer easily reach 110-112 sometimes hotter depending where I am in the valley of the Sun in AZ. I chose to run this config after long and tireless research. I believe this setup to be the best way to modulate temps and not have an overheating issue in the summer driving through the desert with my A/C cranked (wife in jeep not liking 112* outside the jeep). Ask anyone who knows the desert and your taking a big chance of overheating driving slower than 8-10 MPH with the A/C on. Now by running a larger dual core Al rad with Be Cool H/D 50/50 coolant coupled with a high flow water pump by Flowcooler that functions properly by pulling the coolant out rapidly at the correct point of temp to the rad and not just sucking out the fluid before it has had time to sufficiently heat up to remove heat from the engine is critical-(Whew run on sentence but oh well). So my recipe for desert conditions heat control in a Jeep Wrangler I6 Auto with A/C whether your on the I-60 in snarled traffic of meandering through Box Canyon in June : Stant Superstat @ 180*, Flowcooler H2O Pump, Aluminum Dual core "Mega-Cool"Griffin Radiator,Be-Cool Rad Fluid 50/50, Spal 16" Puller fan controlled by a DCControlsFM75 unit & lst but not least Silicone U/L hoses. This set-up will run you $1500.00 but Peace of mind is worth how much in the desert with your loved ones?

Exactly what you expect!
Fit my 1995 K1500 perfectly and works great. However this is the 180 degree model. My pickup needs a 195 degree thermostat. My own mistake and happily purchasing the correct one I need.

When I got back into working on cars as a hobby in retirement I looked for familiar names for parts . Stant was always my first choice back in the day and I was not disappointed. This was an exact replacement and is working well and was a good price.
