Which way should the vent be? On the top or bottom when feeding?

I always placed the vent at the top while feeding and I never had an issue with doing that.

Bottle deformed after taking it out from steamer

Initially we thought it was a very good brand. And baby seems to like it. The flow was fast, we can finish feeding in few minutes. But after several use and sterilized in the steamer, as I took it out from the steamer one night, I saw the bottle was deformed , I was shocked to see it and immediately returned the bottles.
