Exellent tripod for artists.
This is an excellent and very strong tripod. I am using it to hold a pochade box full of artists soft pastels. Between the pochade box and the pastels it is at least 15 lbs. Let's see how it holds up on trips outside.

Love this tripod
I bought this tripod to go with my uGo pochade box for plein air painting because it was compact and light! It was a bit more expensive than other lightweight tripods but it was well worth the price! So easy to use and so compact. Totally recommend this product!

Solid & portable equipment
Sturdy, but folds up small & light. Perfect with my 8x10 pochade box.

Connection to pochade box cannot be tightened. WOBBLY!
I bought this because I needed a new tripod compatible for my new UGO pochade box . The connection worked seamlessly BUT after I attached my pochade box, it was wobbly and terribly unstable. My engineer son took a look at it and noted that the ball connection was made of plastic, the screw that should tighten it has sticky grease and therefore was impossible to tighten sufficiently. I spent 2 full days attempting to make this work and will look for a tripod with higher quality metal connection.

I wish it was taller
I use this for art in ‘plein air’. If you are attaching a box to the top of it, it might be ok, but I have a system where the paint palette is attached to the legs, and the canvas to the quick release plate, so it would be better if the legs would extend higher. It DEFINITELY will hold a full box of pastels with no problem if you tighten everything. I have a sienna box and that works just fine. Honestly, this is a great tripod….just one of my wishes. I have been searching for the perfect tripod. I want a sturdy quick release plate and taller legs, but this will work. I work in oil, pastel, and watercolor, so want all of my mediums to work with one tripod.
