The full 360 mode fills the whole room and the half mode lights half the room. I almost never use the flashlight mode. We have had trouble with power outages, so I hang this on the wall beside the bed. Has lasted in 6 and 10 hour outages with one battery. It is nice not to have to spend the first hour of the outage looking for and replacing batteries in a bunch of flashlights and "lanterns". **Q: how durable is it?** A: it appears to be well made and I have used it for a variety of situations like power outages, night fishing, etc and I'm not known for being very gentle so I'd have to say its pretty durable and gives off a good amount of light. Cheers **Q: Where do you find the serial number on this to register it on the Makita website?** A: There are two sets of numbers on my flashlight in this video. They are reference numbers an authorized Makita dealer will use to identify it.
