Works great.

It works after 45 minutes of downloading
I purchased a couple Blank decoders which came with default prime mover and horn so I needed to program them for better sounds that match the locos. Once I located the sound files on loksound site it took another 30 minutes to up load. I’m not impressed with the sounds compared to my Digitrax decoders or Tsunami decoders. Tsunami has the best sound IMHO. I use the soundtraxx speakers which are very good. If I had to do it again I would pass on Loksound all together especially the fact you have to purchase this programmer when I prefer to use JMRI decoder pro which is much better to use for decoder programming then this.

Uses a USB to serial converter.
If you want to change the sound files on the SoundTrak decoder, you need this programmer. It does a nice job. The software is fairly easy to use. The programmer is designed to attach to a serial port. They include a USB to serial port adapter to connect it. But you could use a serial cable and connect directly to a serial port if you have one. Updating the sound program is not fast. Plan on doing something else while it is uploading the new files.
