Perfect for Reference Drawing!
I ended up not needing these but they were as described and came on time. I use them as a reference for drawing portraits from photos. I use 1 on the reference photo itself and with a light box the other underneath my drawing page. I found my original set so I didn’t need these but they work great and have lasted me a long time. Definitely useful tool for reference drawing.

which is better for carrying on roofs
The original straight line was a hard plastic, this would be a problem as the corners would chip eventually....this product is a flexible plastic and will probably not break in the same manner. The hard plastic style lasted me over 5 years! So this style just takes getting used to, but I have no idea how long they might last.....I bought two, and I cut mine in half to use. This allows me to draw on a mini-clipboard, which is better for carrying on roofs, etc. If you use a .05 mechanical pencil, your lines are perfect, and rarely will the pencil leave the straight line......Great Product! I diagram homes and roofs daily, and wouldn't leave for an inspection without it. Everyone is always impressed at the quality of my hand drawings. Great product!

a must have for sloppy drawers.
These have slight groves in them that make drawing straight lines a breeze even for those of us not gifted with the ability to freehand draw straight lines.

Claims adjusting sketches done well.
Came in as expected. Love these as they make sketching so much easier when at a residence. They do not like extreme temperatures at all... which is really unfortunate since they are usually used in the heat, rain, snow, etc. These are carried by most adjusters in our office.

Exactly What I Needed
My Acculine grid sheet was old and falling apart. I wanted to replace it and thought I would try this. It works great. I like that is less rigid than my Acculine sheet. It seems a little lighter weight too but still very durable. This is a really super product and I am glad I purchased it.

This is a good tool for the shop, though delicate. Care should be taken in any sort of jobsite with this product.
As some others have suggested, you must use a fine ball-point pen with this product (0.05 mm mechanical pencil or smaller may work as well), and you mustn't leave it in direct sunlight. Take care to leave this product in a binder or other rigid notebook-sized container, as this product is not rigid, and is susceptible to wrinkling. With some care and effort, as long as the wrinkles have not been fully creased, you can use your fingers to gently manipulate the wrinkles out, and re-flatten the sheet. It is also suggested that you always drag the tip of the writing utensil in the direction the line is being drawn, as pushing or sweeping the tip yields poor results. It helps to have some experience in a workshop setting or other design setting where freehand-drawing straight lines is required, though with practice the user may still become familiar with this product easily.I gave 4 out of 5 because I love this product's concept, it is an attractive tool for the shop and the office, yet it takes some unexpected practice to become proficient. I will always recommend this product to friends.

Quality
Fast shipping. I have used a hard clip board style with the built-in grooves. It is not as accurate as the units purchased from Straight Line. It works as described and is is a real necessary tool for Field Adjusters. I would buy again if needed.

I have a Grid sheet from another company that works better. The dots on these sheets are a bit small and allow pencils to 'jump' out of the lines too often. The sheets are also a bit flimsy and can be creased if not careful. It's a useful tool, just not as useful as Accu-line's.
