The closed toe caps work well. I actually buy them to use as a compression bandage on a finger I broke. It didn’t heal completely straight & has scar tissue & swells at times. Wearing this at night keeps the swelling down.

The item works if you wear the product INSIDE~OUT. The SEAMS irritated the skin, and the inside rubber grip feels like CHEWING GUM and irritates the skin also.I turned the product INSIDE OUT, cut out the length excess, and guess what. IT WORK ! I use this kind of product to protect my BIG TOE from ULCERS caused by the rubbing of the toes with the inside of the shoes. It can happen in any toe, in my case is the big toe, so SIZE MATTERS, it will be A LOT MORE ATTRACTIVE if I can buy 8 BIG TOE PIECES instead of 4.
