The SafariSack has been in production for over ten years. It has been duplicated by others, but as they say, “copying is the best form of flattery.” We offer you a choice of fill. Poly beads are the most stable, but heavier than the buckwheat hulls. For lenses up to 200mm, the buckwheat is adequate. The 4.2 features a side gusset, allowing a thicker volume of filler when in half saddlebag style. The ends are slightly rounded for easier handling. D-rings on the ends for carrying over the shoulder with a shoulder strap (# Y215 is adjustable, unpadded & 1" / 25 mm wide). With the sewn-in strap, it can be securely fastened to the rack on the top of an Land*over which is common on safari...or your own mini-van or SUV! If you want a longer strap, get the # Y208. You can add water, sand or pebbles to use as a ballast to stabilize a tripod or light stand in the wind. We recommend the use of an optional liner for sand (R107) or choose the R425 SafariSack II for a simpler, less expensive ballast bag. ## Questions & Answers

**Q: How does this compare to a Cinesaddle?**
A: The biggest difference is about $300 :) The Cinesaddle is made from canvas and the SafariSacks are made from my nylon—nylon is typically is more durable. The SafariSack works on on car windows, but not sure about the Cinesaddle, unless it was inverted? The B&H site is unclear on what the filler is for the Cinesaddle. We offer it three ways: empty, filled with poly (plastic) or buckwheat hulls.

**Q: What is the weight pre-filled with buckwheat?**
A: Don't really know. I travel with my SafariSack empty and fill it with dried beans wherever I go, then either toss them or give them away since they cost a few pennies. You can usually stop at any vegetable market and get them. I travel in Tanzania twice a year and refill it each time.

**Q: What size big would you recommend for a 400mm 2.8 prime lens?**
A: IMHO, this sack would fit well for a 400 mm lens.  I use a 200 - 400 Nikon and it works well, event with the lens extended.  This bag seems to just the right size and I think most of the other bigger bags or supports are kind of a waste and take up much more room.

**Q: Would this work for a 500mm nikon ?**
A: Yes this would work fine for shooting a 500mm from your car.
