Sturdy, adjustable, and covers the ribs nicely!
This is the bees knees of chest protectors. Highly considered going the body suit route, and after trying on various brands, I decided this would be better for my needs. Can wear under or over my jersey/jacket depending on what the weather is, and got to pick a better feeling set of elbow guards to match. The zipper on the 5.5 near the elbows concerned me, and the other brands didn’t fit well. Also, if you wreck and tear up the body suit it basically ruins the entire piece. Crash with separate gear, you only have to replace whatever portion you really thrashed.Haven’t worn it much since I just got it, but the adjustability is amazing, and it’s definitely sturdy. Highest protection gear out there that I found, and I really wanted to protect my ribs. Why everyone else seems to forget that part is beyond me. Broken arms and legs can be casted, but broken ribs put you out of commission for a while.I got bought the XXL size. For reference I’m about 6’2” and 220lbs. It’s actually a little large around the belly, but I adjusted the upper shoulder straps as far out as they could go to drop the chest and back down, and sucked in the rib protection snug. Plenty of room to go even tighter or looser if you’re close to my build and considering this route. Regular size would definitely be for the under 6ft 200lb people.Shoulder cups are a little weird because they don’t feel big enough, but they’re still protective. Just would like to see them be a bit wider and deeper cupped. If you have skinny shoulders, these would fit great.Overall I haven’t tried on any other piece I liked as much as this one for fit, adjustment, and most importantly, the level of protection. Grab some arm guards and you’ve got all the upper body protection you could ask for.

This protection is a true winner.
The very best chest protectors on the market give the rider an air of confidence above and beyond sensibility sometimes. This one is no different. I put this thing on and I felt like I could conquer anything the trail through my way. My ride was fun, comfortable and I didn't even notice that I had serious, top of the line protection covering my ribs, chest, color bone, back, shoulders and scapula. It's perfect. Get one for yourself or your kid because this one is excellent. The other cool thing about this is the adjustability. I am a big guy, over 250. The largest one they have fit me perfectly. I adjusted it to fit as per their instructions, put it on and was riding in 20 minutes. The arm bands that hold on the bicep armor was useless for me. My arms are 21 inches around! These are for a set of arms that are about 8 inches around. (for an xxl thats kinda week) Thats why they only got 4 stars.

Great quality, and this product is certified to protect against impact.
Researched on how the item fits so I could get the right size. I Wear a L in most shirts. so I ordered the XXL after reading that the sizing runs Small. Its a Perfect fit and covers well the vital parts of my torso. The chest protector is also quite comfortable to wear. though that may be a matter of Opinion. First ride in it was through the desert. a 25 mile ride through a diverse landscape consisting of sand and pebble washes, dirt, and Rock on a Honda XR650R. Had a blast and didn't suffer any foreign rubbing, pinching, or discomfort anywhere. Had one Wipe out where the protector came into play, but it was in sand and pebble so was a fairly soft land and roll. I am sure it will do its job when the time comes.

Great protection, but with some flaws
I am using this protection for DH mountain biking. Overall the protection that this protector provides is very good. There is ample protection in the critical areas. It's easy to put on and take off and the Leatt neck collar fits with it perfectly. I gave 3 stars for the following reasons:1. The straps/buckles used to hold and adjust the shoulder pads are just a poor design. The strap that holds the shoulder pad to the chest protector pulls out of the buckle constantly. I ended up wrapping the strap with duct tape to keep it together. The buckle "clips" on to some piping on the shoulder strap of the chest protector. This is intended to allow the buckle to slide forward and back for adjustment of the shoulder pads, but instead it would just pull off of the piping when trying to re-adjust the strap that kept slipping out of the buckle. This needs to be fixed with different design.2. The padding under the hard plastic in the front collar area (where the neck brace slips in) is very thin and this caused a hot spot on my collar bone. I rode with this brace for three days in a row at Whistler and by the end of the 3rd day, I had a scabbing raw spot on my collar bone. I tried to adjust the brace to avoid this, but could not change the position of chest protection to avoid this.Despite these issues, the brace provided top notch protection and is very adjustable.
