Fisher-Price Imaginext Space Shuttle and Tower

Positives: Excellent activity features, cool sound effects, nice group of figures and accessories, large toy, educational Negatives: No volume control for sounds, elevator gets stuck My 3 year old loves space shuttles. We watch shuttle launch replays on the NASA Youtube channel and he practically has all the parts of the space shuttle memorized. We looked for various space shuttle based toys and this was by far the best option. The space shuttle toy comes with two spacemen, an alien creature, a communication dish, and a blaster. The spacemen's feet fit snugly into various turnbased platforms on both the space shuttle and the launch pad. Turning the spacemen then performs various actions including turning the platform leading to the cockpit, rotating a space claw which attaches to the shuttle, expanding shuttle wings, and opening the cargo hold which is pretty large. There is an elevator for the three levels but I've yet to find a toy that doesn't have an elevator or lift that doesn't get stuck or is rough moving up and down. This is no exception but it does work well enough to not detract for the fun. All the accessories can fit into the cargo hold. Many of the activities activate sound effects which are very well done. There is a button on the space shuttle which also produces sound effects such as preflight sounds or a beeping countdown. Lifting the space shuttle off the launch pad initiates the shuttle launch sound effects which lead into deep space sound effects. It's all really well done and quite immersive. I wish that there was a second volume option. There is only an on and off switch however and the sounds are slightly loud. The space shuttle and launch pad are both very sturdy and the size is satisfying. It's large enough for my son to get lost in his imagination but compact enough to not take up too much space. Really cool toy!

an absolutely well-developed and constructed space shuttle with all the 'real deal' bells and whistles. This is an outstanding toy for imaginative play. It is perfectly age appropriate. My son is an Astro Stellar Physist and has twin sons in Wales that are well advanced and interested in all things that their dad can tell and teach them about space. This Space Shuttle was on the boys top list to give to Santa. As the gram, I have the thrill and pleasure of being the surpise giver. Fisher Price has gone big and beyond, I believe, in all their Imaginext products. It might cost a bit more for the product,but the end result is long-lasting and outstanding quality. My sons received and played with Fisher Price toys in their childhood and now that fun will continue on for my grandsons. The twins have the Inaginext Castle and enjoy it time and time again.. I am thrilled with my puchase, extremely pleased when it arrived so I could have a chance to make certain it was exactly right. it was, indeed. And more !!! An outstanding choice/gift that will last and last.

He's way into rocket ships right now, so that doesn't hurt. It makes cool sounds and lights up. has compartments he can open and put things into. It comes with a couple of astronauts with removable helmets. He can remove the ship and play with it by itself or leave it docked and use all of the other components that come with the space station. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because certain things about the space station are a little flimsy, but that's just me nit-picking. The ship itself is very solid, and overall for the money it's a great toy with lot of thing to keep the little one interested. I recommend it for anyone who's kid is into rocket ships!

I purchase this toy for my 3 year old grandson's birthday. I had previously boat the ocean boat by Imaginetext for him last Christmas and he spent hours playing with it along with his Dad so I knew this would be a hit too. My grandson lives in the USA so I did not see him playing with it much but if I could describe the happiness and excitment in his voice as he played with it, it is another hit. I have already bought 2 grandsons the Ocean boat and we are now onto the Space shuttle. The item is really well built and held up with Jacks 1 year old brother crawling over it! The shuttle has a take off sound and also a count down with beeps. Although there are some sound effects, the best part of the toy is that it lets him use his imagination which is really important. I can assure anyone that the Imaginetext line held both my grandson's attention for quite a long time and is played with quite often. As usual I am very happy with Amazon's quick delivery and looking forward to Jack receiving the Imaginetext air craft carrier for Christmas.

Got this for my 4 year old grandson for Christmas, and it was a HUGE hit. He plays with it constantly, and has named the astronauts John Glenn, Buzz Aldren and Neil Armstrong! He will occasionally play with another toy, but will steer his play back to his space shuttle and Imaginext Space Station, which he also got for Christmas. He will eventually ask whatever toy he is playing with "Have you ever seen a real space shuttle blast off?", and it's right back to his space toys. All of his dinosaurs, and most of his other toys, have been taken on a tour of the space station, been introduced to the astronauts and witnessed a take off. Some have even travelled to Mars and to the Moon. He was already interested in space and said he wanted to be an astronaut, but this toy has really fueled his imagination and provided many hours of entertainment.

My son wrote to Santa and asked for a spaceship for Christmas, and he received this. Amazon's price was comparable to other site's, and while this item did ship from Target, it was cheaper to order through Amazon and get the free super saver shipping. I also saw this item available in other stores, but it was priced at around $48 everywhere else. My son loves it. He likes to put the 2 men and the alien in and out of it, and he has been making up a variety of pretend story lines, all things a mother likes to see. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the two astronauts and the alien all can be put inside the shuttle for storage, so there are no loose toy parts to get lost. We've only had it a few days, but it survived a trip in the back of the car to grandma's house and lots of hours of playing. One thing to consider is that while the sound effects are neat and appropriate to the toy, they are on the loud side. There is an on/off button on the back, and an agreeable kid may be willing to play without the sound when necessary.

My son saw this toy while we were shopping and we ended up buying it for him as a Christmas gift. He is typically very interested in construction, fire trucks and garbage trucks so I wasn't sure how the space shuttle would rank. Since opening it, he loves playing with it and flying it all over the house. It has kept him very busy and he even wants to take it in the car. The space shuttle has a few different sounds and it comes with "men", which is really important for my kiddo. I am very happy with this purchase. Imaginext is good quality so I anticipate it will be a toy my son will get much use of.

I purchased this this toy for my 4 year old thinking it was a great selection, as we play a great many games of make believe. I thought adding "props" to our make believe games would be more fun. The space shuttle is interesting. It has great sound effects. The space station adds another dimention, but has limited mobility. However, after purchasing this as well as a few other Imaginext toys, I now realize the make believe games are best when we make them up w/ the toys at hand. The Imaginext toys have "bells and whistles", but provide limited story line and ways to interact. I purchased this and the Matchbox Spaceshuttle at Christmas. The Matchbox Spaceshuttle is more expensive, but the things you do and build with it are countless. Matchbox Mega Rig Space Shuttle Thus far, my 4 year old has spent hours building and playing w/ the Matchbox Shuttle. It was/is his favorite toy. The Imaginext toys receive litte or no play time.

My Nephew absolutely loves this rocket. Sent all the way to Australia and arrived in one piece (excellent packaging). It makes noises and lights up, very happy 3 year old!

Mon fils de 4 ans voulait absolument une fusée pour son anniversaire. Nous ne trouvions rien pour son age, ce qui nous a semblé vraiment surprenant. Cette fusée avec sa rampe de lancement, ses lumiéres, ses bruitages et ses personnages est parfaite. Elle est bien compléte et semble, pour le moment, robuste. Dommage pour le prix que le buggy ne soit pas inclus.

The game is very nice and my three year old boy is enjoying it very much! But the shuttle inside the package was a bit dirty and also the elevator on the upper side, was a bit crooked.
