The texture reminds me of a clay mask, or almost like drywall spackle. It’s pretty thick, and a little goes a long way, but it seems to blend into my skin just fine. This was recommended because it treats both bacterial and fungal issues, and doesn’t have any ingredients that “feed” malassezia fungal infections, like most skincare products do (check out the “simple skin care science” website to learn more about fungal acne). The skin issue is relatively mild, but it keeps coming back despite everything else I’ve tried, so if this doesn’t do the trick, I’ll have to head straight to the dermatologist because I’ll be out of other options. I’ll update my review again in a few weeks, once I know if this will resolve the issue. How frequently? Put it on before sleep and rinse it in the morning?** A: The medication is squeezed out from a tube. Little is more, you don't need a lot and depending upon your complexion, you want it rub the medicine into the skin so it disappears. Use it twice a day, morning and night, wash your face w/ a non-drying cleanser & hands, if you utilize a toner that is good since it assists w/absorption, let that dry. Then w/ clean finger tips, a small tab to the affected areas, rub in well until it disappears. I found the medicine effective although it has a minor medicinal odor, but that wears off quickly. And do I need a moisturizer afterwards?** A: It soothes my cystic acne symptoms and heals the acnes on my cheeks this year. As I'm always in great stress, new acnes come up on my chin too so I'm not sure whether it can prevent the new ones. I don't apply for the moisturizer as this cream doesn't make my skin dry. Many acne sufferers share that less is more so I void all the foundations, lotions, moisturizers now. I’ve tried changing my diet and many, many products — basically anything prescribed or over the counter, I have tried it. I received this item on Friday and have out it on my face at night for three straight nights and it has completely eliminated my active cystic bumps. I’m still in shock how fast it’s worked, but so relieved I’ve finally found a product that works. This product is VERY drying, so I only apply the product at night over a heavy moisturizer. It does match my skin tone, so I have tried using under makeup and you can easily tell where I’ve applied it— it creates a different colored patch, so I would not recommend. Other than that, this has truly been a miracle product and would recommend to anyone looking for something to calm down their cystic acne.
