Used this vavle as an upgrade for failed oem waste valve. More rugged and smoother remote operator. Direct bolt in installation.

The valve comes with easy to follow instructions. I used the bolt method to separate the flags to remove the failed valve and install the new valve. Overall it takes about 45 minutes to remove the old valve, install the new valve, and test the new valve.

The valve is NOT a direct replacement for grand design campers, but works fine. Our 2022 23LDE required trimming the sides of the black tank flanges to allow the valve side pieces to slip over the flanges. It’s easy enough to do with a utility knife, just needs to be done before the valve can be installed. The cable length is good also. Tip: empty and flush the tank before you start and raise the front to keep residual water from draining out.Regarding the reviews mentioning the gaps on the side of the gate valve, that’s the way it is supposed to be. The rubber gaskets cover the gap and seal completely. If it’s leaking, the seals are not properly installed.

Installed two of these to replace leaking waste valves in my Winnebago Navion 24d. Probably just needed to replace the seals but went ahead and did the whole valve.

Did not fit on my plumbing. Is not a universal part. Had LaSalle Bristol brand and that’s what I had to use to replace. What a disappointment.

I was reading through the reviews and I just wanted to educate some of you! It's supposed to have those gaps!!!! The valve is a slide gate, not a solid plugThose channels:Reduce friction when the gate slidesLet debris pass instead of jamming the valveHelp the blade move between the rubber seals👉 The real seal happens at the round rubber gasket, not the plastic face you’re seeing.

First on got lost in shipping and never arrived. But, this poor design compared to the original Valterra that came in my trailer. The "ears" that support the outer housing extension prevent the installer from separating the two pipes apart far enough to get the valve inserted past the pipe gasket flanges (you need a 1/4" gap on each side). So the only way to get it installed is to remove half of the outer housing. That wouldn't be too bad if there was room to reassemble it. Poor workmanship and quality control on the unit I was sent. First, the small hole where the wire actuator is to be inserted and captured was not drilled through to the set screw bore. I had to find a bit and drill it out. Second, there was no set screw in the bore, and none in the hardware pack either. There was, however, an Allen wrench for the nonexistent screw. I scrounged around and found a bolt with the right thread pitch and threaded that into the bore to capture the wire/rod instead. Took about 3 hours to install when it should have only taken 1 to 1.5 hours. Once modified and installed, it works great, though.
