i ordered this for a craftsman garage door opener. i lost my lights when i walked into the motion sensor.i was scared to spend the money wondering if it was going to fix the problem. i had to remove the boardand intstall it on my craftsman opener. it worked and all was back to normal. the old board was smoked.it was all burned up. i was told it was cause by a power surge. one tip u dont have to take the opener down.just make sure u unplug and take battery back up off as well. i did the job in like 10 min.

Right part to solve the problem. Easy to install.
My Chamberlain GDO just quit one day, shortly after a power outage. I still don't know exactly what caused the problem, but the result was a GDO that no longer worked at all. No sign of power anywhere. The backup battery didn't make the unit work. I called the Chamberlain help # (800-528-9131) and was connected to an incredibly helpful and knowledgeable woman after virtually no wait and no long phone tree. She helped walk me through the troubleshooting steps to determine the problem was a non-functioning mother board. She talked me through, and pointed me to YouTube videos, on how to replace the old motherboard with the new. Seemed very easy to do. She gave me the part number I needed for the replacement. She gave me the replacement part #. She had no problem with me checking for a better price or quicker delivery, which I did find on Amazon vs. Chamberlain parts. She seemed generally happy I found the fix to my problem. When the part arrived, it was even easier to install that the videos showed, as the replacement part included the face plate itself so I didn't have remove the old motherboard - it was integral to the replacement part. Taking off the old part and re-installing the new took only 10 minutes. And the GDO worked again when it was installed. It took a while longer to reset the up-down limits for the garage door, and get the safety tension correctly calibrated, plus having to re-program all the GDO remotes and keypad. But overall, a great experience with Chamberlain support staff and getting the problem fixed. I did buy a GDO surge protector (only about $5 on Amazon) to hopefully protect the motherboard better if there is another power outage in the future.

This logic board was the fix
After a power surge, the motion sensor and lights on my Chamberlain Elite Series Garage Door Opener no longer worked, although the opener still responded to the remote controllers and would open and close the garage door. This logic board was an exact replacement for the one installed in my opener. There are 3 Phillips head screws on the side panel of the opener. Removing the light bulb and screws gives you access to the wiring harnesses that connect to the logic board. I took a photo of the wires to ensure I reconnect them properly, but diagrams printed on the side of the logic board panel show the proper way to connect the wiring harnesses. I completed the installation in about 20 mins. The new board cured the problem I was having with the motion sensor and lights, but the new board did not recognize my remote controllers, and the door was not opening and closing fully, so I needed to program the remotes and length of travel using the learn button. Fixed it myself for less than the cost of a service call.

Reolved the no lights issue from burnt power relay.
The replacement controller board solved the problem. The previous board definitely had a smoked relay that actually burned into the printed circuit board rendering it non-repairable.The replacement instructions were very clear, especially the reminders to unplug the power first and disconnect the back up battery. There were a number of cable connectors to unplug, but they have alignment guides.Possible prevention tip: The failed power relay (a 60 cent part but soldered to the board) was for the two 60W lights, that go on and off a lot due to the motion sensor. A good feature, but it made for a premature death (~5 years) of the power relay. So I also replaced the 60W incandescent bulbs with new GE light sticks (about $3 a piece) that are only about 10Ws but give off equivalent bright white lumens. Hopefully, they will put less stress on the power relay on the new controller card. We'll see.

Did not last too long
It only lasted about a week and had to call Liftmaster for a warranty claim. Hopefully the replacement unit will last longer then this one.

Did not work. Replacement works.
Installed according to directions. Motor would hum but not move door. Called Chamberlian. Tech walked me through installation. Still would not work. Tech finally agreed it was a "bad" board. Chamberlian sent a replacement board in 2 days. Installed it, works great.
