It was fairly easy to install. The supply hoses that came with the unit would not fit the shut off valves I had so had to buy new ones. It wasn't a big deal IMO. I read some reviews about concerns about the pressure of the water coming through the unit. While not spelled out in the instruction manual, on the back of the panel, there is a white tag indicating where the flow restrictor is installed (evidently to meet some of the states regulations). It was very simple to loosen the connector and remove the small plastic piece that slows down the water flow. MAN this shower puts out some water! In rainshower mode it really beats down on you - in a good way. Since each mode selector (rainshower, waterfall, spa spray, handle spray) can not only be turned on/off individually but also adjust the volume of the flow, you can dial it back if the volume of water is too much for you. However, I am very handy with tools and would say this is not a project for a new DIYer. It can be difficult if your current plumbing is not set up exactly to accept this setup.
