Neewer® External Portable Battery Pack SD-9A Replacement Backup Power Source for Nikon SB-900 SB-910

I received my pack today and have the same issues with the door. During my first test I fired off about 10 flashes with a bare bulb flash, which I ordered it for. The power light is does not indicate correct power application. When flash is turned on it lights and shuts off. I still can fire the flash, but the pack begins to get hot. Removed batteries and checked each one and they were dead. Once pack cooled off I install 8 more new batteries, checking first to make sure voltage was correct. Reconnected the power cord to flash and turned it on. Power light comes on for about 15 seconds and goes out. Firing flash the power light would light and then go out again. It should remain on as long as the flash is turned on. Battery pack again got warm. Unplugged the power pack from flash and the power pack power light dimmed but remained. I suspect that this pack has a short causing the batteries to go dead and the pack over heat. I have sent Neewer support an email and I am waiting on a response from them.

I did not receive a NEEWER battery pack, but a brand called SHOOT. The main difference between the battery pack I bought and the one pictured is that there is no battery tray. There is a side door, which must be closed and slid into place. However, with batteries in the pack, this is almost impossible as the spring loaded batteries try to catch the door. In fact, I never was able to close the door with batteries in the pack (worked fine without the batteries).

its ok but very hard to get the cover on with the batteries in it. would not recommend to a friend

It did not work on Neewer MK910 i-TTL Flash. Ended up smoking at the end without hurting the flash. I now used the shell and modified it for my old school vivitar flash which works great. I might but another one just for the shell and remove the guts and the cable. I installed a plug for my vivitar flash cable.

Works as it should and as others have said, just a little bit finicky when closing a loaded battery tray, don't force it or it will break.

The unit overheated the first time I used it and the batteries drain between uses.

Not happy about how Amazon recommends this with the Meike 910 and it doesn't work with it! When it did light up, I found it didn't make a difference with my flash and now the battery pack won't power up at all.
