2 Bike rack
I love my Thule 2 bike rack

the worst, F- design
i own two thule bike racks. the other one gets an A+ (it looks like the Thule Raceway Pro Trunk Bike Rack). i did not realize how bad this one could be, it's a thule. three issues:1) gears do not mesh. prepare to spend half a day moving the two bars that bike rest on from vertical (stowed away) position to horizontal. the gears are big, it should work easily, but the two halves do not come undone except with exceptional force, and once they gears are separate and bar moved into horizontal, the two gears do not mesh together without exceptional force.2) a small plastic piece needs to be forced to close position to lock the horizontal piece in place. imagine putting on a ski boot that is two sizes two small, and the clip is plastic instead of metal, and instead of being three inches long, it is three cm long. on the thule, if the clamps that need to be closed were longer (more leverage), a normal human being could do it.3) once bikes are on the horizontal piece, there is a strap to secure the bikes in place. on my other thule, it's a soft piece of rubber that is easy to connect, easy to disconnect. in this thule, it is rigid plastic that closes nicely, holds the bike firmly, but cannot be opened. there's a little lever that needs to be pressed down to open, but most of the time after closing the lever is already in the down position and cannot go further. have to change the position of the closed strap to get air underneath the tiny lever to so it can be pushed down and strap will release. i have already purchased bike toe clip straps to replace the thule bike straps.if your only choice is to purchase this thule, consider giving up biking. the other thule i did not purchase on amazon, and i love it. it has the heavy, well made thule feel, but it has a knob (that turns easily) to lock the horizontal piece in place, it does not have gears that do not mesh together, and using it feels like flying first class.

Quality bike rack
The rack itself is quality material and easy enough to install. A word of caution because it did not even dawn on me that a step through bike (girls bike) would need some kind of adapter in order for the bike to be mounted on the rack. Research the frame adapters to see if one works on your bike before ordering and being heart broken like me.

Finally found one that works for my suv but need more straps
Ok so i have a 2020 highlander and I dont know why I didn't think of making sure it had a hitch when I bought it, but i purchased it without a hitch. Bad choice on my end..... I literally purchased and returned 6 trunk bike racks cause non fit right. Either they were so hard to secure the bike, or the weight of my bike (about 30+ lbs) made my top spoiler ( I guess that's what's it's called) move that I was terrified it was going to fall off..... I tried this Thule one only because of the picture of an suv on the front with a top spoiler. I had nothing to lose and im happy I gave it a try. It fits securely but my only issue is they need to provid extra straps to secure. They only provided 5 and my rack is a 2 bike rack that is not enough of straps. ive emailed the company and they said the straps are out of stock but I found them on Amazon and you would think they would offer to provide more but they didnt... I do love that there are 2 slots that the strap goes through and around a piece of your bike. Maybe they think since there's 2 slots for the straps times 2 bikes still leaves me with 1 extra??? But its not that simple. If you only use the 2 straps per bike, the bottom of your bike will rock back and forth which is why more straps are needed. I've used it 4 times so far and my heavy bike was secure for several hours...also I combined 2 of the straps together to make it long enough to secure one week and a paddle thus why it would be great to have a few extra straps.. . You can't have a 2 bike rack with only 5 straps.

Worked great.
I used this to take my bike to our vacation house in Florida. I was worried as it looked a little flimsy, but it worked great. 600 miles and no issue.

Quality product, but poor customer information and support.
- Sturdy construction- Easy to assemble and use- Poor manual. Not enough information about which vehicles the product will work with.- Will keep for short trips because of ease of attachment, use and storage.- Would not recommend using for more then two adult bikes.

(Thule censored the below review and refused to allow its publication on their website)Last Thule product I ever purchase I never even got the bikes on. Unfortunately, I bought it from their Amazon store where they do not mention the "Fit my car" feature, and of course I only find out it does not fit after the return window has closed. Then, the instructions are utter garbage. It's just pictures, no text, that they claim is for "ease of understanding". 1. You have technically unlimited room to add translations for ever language, you are just trying to save on paper. 2. Adding text in one language is better than none. 3. You can at least have the text online, which you don't. 4. You are not IKEA, I am not building a side table. 100s, if not 1000s of dollars of equipment are being placed on this rack. If this falls off on a highway, it could kill someone. The pictures are simply not enough. *Listen to your customers* Not a fan of the buckle that cinches the belt which connects side-bottom. The metal hooks also have no padding, so expect some scratches on your car. Lastly, we have a difficult time with getting 2 bikes on there: the handlebars of one bike conflicted with the wheel of the other. Can't imagine trying to fit 3 on there. Two other friends asked about the bike rack after I purchased it, I will be telling them to stay clear of Thule.--- REPLY FROM THULE WHEN REVIEW WAS SUBMITTED TO THEIR WEBSITE ---Our staff has read your review and values your contribution even though it did not meet all our website guidelines.
