Ideal entry in the world of mirrorless cameras! The quality of the pictures is outstanding! The price i paid is much lower than everywhere else!

This is Canon's entry level mirrorless full sensor system camera - as such it has pretty much all the capabilities of their more expensive cameras, and at a decent cost. You'll need to buy one or two extra bits before you can use the camera, such as memory cards, but they're not too expensive. You can use the camera as a 'point and shoot' one (automatic setting), or with the pre-configured scenes - such as 'portrait' or 'landscape'. But the real virtue of this camera is the ability to configure shutter speed, aperture and ISO settings yourself to get more interesting pictures. For example, I took some pictures of cars travelling fast on the motorway. I deliberately slowed the shutter speed, so the cars are slightly blurred along their length, giving the impression of speed. If you just want basic pictures, you'll get decent ones from most mobile phones. If you like the challenge of getting striking, out of the ordinary pictures, this camera is a good starting point. One word of warning though - this is a complex camera. To get the best out of it, you'll have to master the detail of the settings - although there are some decent videos on the Internet that'll help.

Work perfect

I wanted a budget full frame camera to take pictures of my new granddaughter. I’ve owned many cameras from different brands, including Nikon, Sony and Olympus. I always come back to Canon and I’ve been surprised by the RP. It’s user friendly, the Canon colour science is great and if you’re a jpeg shooter this is fantastic. I always shoot in aperture priority but the touch menus are instinctive and easily navigated. I recommend this camera for a beginner or enthusiast

Great camera, easy to use

I am very happy with the Canon rp camera, it is easy to handle and operate, I think the quality of the camera and photographs are very good, I am glad that I purchased it.

I wante to upgrade from an earlier digital SLR and this mirror-less version has been widely recommended as one for serious amatures. I'm liking getting used to it - there are 600 pages of a PDF manual to assist!

Well after being years away from Canon i have just purchased this camera. I must say i am not blown away with it i`m afraid,very basic bit of kit. VERY poor customer service i must say,buy at your own risk. I will NEVER buy from them ever again. It came in a cardboard box,no original Canon RP camera box.
