Fantastic!
For me, this product is a fantastic time-saver. With the Rapid Egg Cooker, you don't need to wait 10 minutes for the water to first boil, and then another 10 minutes to cook the eggs. The product automatically cooks them and turns itself off, and it doesn't require you to boil any water, you can start cooking them immediately. It's nice to not need to watch or pay attention to prevent overcooking, you just put the eggs on the plastic egg holder (or omelet/poached egg tray), put in the indicated amount of water into the included transparent plastic cup for the type of eggs you want, pour the water onto the boilerplate & put on the lid, then press the start button and wait for the little tune to indicate they're done; as mentioned, it will stop cooking on its own, but you will need to press the button again to turn off the alarm. I've found it very easy to cook poached, soft, or medium-soft eggs and get it right every time, and I don't need to worry about cooking them for too long. It's also very easy to clean. The instructions mention using the included pin on the bottom of the water container to poke a small hole in the eggshells before cooking, however, I never do that and they come out just fine - try it yourself and decide what works best for you. If you're going to cook poached eggs or omelets, I recommend spraying the tray with non-stick spray so the eggs slide out easily and the trays are easier to clean, and to run any soft-boiled/medium-boiled eggs under cold water or place them in a dish of ice water - to stop them from cooking, make the shells easier to remove, and so you don't burn yourself (the shells will still be very hot when you remove the eggs). As someone who has very little patience, I've found that for the amount of hassle and time it saves you, it is WELL worth the $20 it costs.

The only way to cook a hard boil egg!
I love this egg cooker. I work on the road 3 out of 4 weeks a month living out of hotels, and this is a must to travel with. The design is brilliant, especially with travel, everything folds up and stores under the locking lid. For $15 you cannot find an easier way to cook an egg. All the eggs cook consistently and peel extremely easy! Cooking a hardboiled egg: 1) Use the needle on the bottom of the water measuring cup to poke a hole in the fat end of the egg and place it in the 6 egg holder cradle. 2) Fill the water cup up to the level you want your eggs cooked at (soft, medium, and hard) and dump the water in the cooker. 3) Place the lid on it, and hit the button on the front. 4) In about 5 to 12 mins (depending how well you want your egg cooked), the cooker runs out of water and makes a buzzing sound. 5) Press the button on the front and carefully remove the lid 6) Throw your eggs in an ice bath for a little to stop the cooking process 7) Peel and eat! Over Easy Hard Boiled Egg: I have found that if you fill the water halfway between the medium and hard levels, the eggs come out perfectly with all the egg whites being fully cooked and just a little of the outside of the yoke being cooked leaving the inside warm and gooey like in an over easy egg. Throw on some hot sauce and you have the perfect “on the go” breakfast. Peeling the Eggs: The easiest peeling hardboiled egg you will ever have. I have tried every trick I could find online and nothing competes. Ok, maybe the blowing on one end of an older egg, but who wants to serve and egg to some that you blew on? With a cooked egg from this machine, I just simply tap both ends on the counter and then roll the egg end over end down one side. Then I open up the fat end (the end that contains the natural air sack and the hole you poked before cooking) and run down the side I rolled on the counter to the other end. The remaining shell will come off almost in one piece! The only 2 negatives I could think of: 1) The machine does not turn off automatically, BUT for $15 bucks, you really can’t complain about that. 2) The white part of the poached egg does not cook fully. My daughter-in-law has a master’s in Poultry Science (I know I was shocked it was a major too ha) specializing in the bacteria that causes food poisoning, and she recommends that you always cook the egg whites fully just to be safe. She said that most of the bacteria that causes you get to sick, is contained in the egg white. To be honest, I only tried it once, and I probably just needed to add more water later. Like one review said, make sure to spray cooking oil to help it from sticking. Once last thing, it is very important to make sure that you have the lid all the way down, especially when cooking a lot of eggs. If you do not have it all the way down, some of the steam and pressure will escape and you eggs will not cook completely. Conclusion: I love this cooker. It is so easy to use that I can never see myself going back to a pot full of water. No more waiting on water to boil, setting a timer, draining the boiling water, and having eggs that get destroyed while trying to peel them.

I always swore....
To never be one of those people that bought an appliance that only makes one thing... Like those sandwich maker/toasters for example.... Now I officially have 2 items that were only made for one thing.... The first was a cutter/crimper set for my kids to use to make their own Uncrustables, which has been used daily since I got it for everything from PB&J, to meat/cheese, to tuna salad, to pimento cheese, to even cucumber sandwiches... They have gone sandwich crazy! Then I found this little item while looking for something to let my son cook an egg or 2 in the microwave, and in the midst of all the little plastic and ceramic cups with lids for the microwave I found these egg cookers. The red one was on sale for a lower price than the other colors and as our kitchen is detailed in red I took that as a nudge that we should try it, after reading through countless reviews first! I do want to say that someone on here posted that it didn't work with farm fresh eggs, that's not true! It works just fine! I think their problem was because they punctured their eggs at the top and not at the bottom where the air sack is like the instructions say to do. Make sure you are putting the little hole on the bigger end, the bottom, of the egg. It worked perfectly for us with eggs that were just collected over the past day or 2. We have only had this little thing not even a whole day, it got here this morning and already my kids have made everything from hard boiled, to poached, to "scrambled". My son used the omelette setting and try to make scrambled eggs by only using the fork to break up the yolks and stuff a little, then season and cook, then use his fork to break them up and fluff them a little on his plate. It worked great! They had eggs for lunch and supper today just because they like that they can to it themselves. They are 12, and I did monitor them while they did. We already go through about 20 eggs a week, now I worry that I won't be able to keep them supplied with enough at all! I made myself a soft boiled egg on toast for supper and it was excellent! Its the only photo I have to upload as I didn't think about it when the kids ate. All I added was a little Louisiana Hot Sauce sprinkled over the egg and buttered toast. I didn't mess with anything else as I was exhausted from working out in the yard today. Now I am catching myself not only thinking about get these as gifts for a couple of people I know that work a lot and don't have a lot of time for cooking, but also looking into some of the other little items Dash makes! I rarely mess with steaming rice as I am the only one that eats it, but the size of the one by Dash has me thinking. I absolutely LOVE the size of this egg cooker! Its simple, small, and I have a whole, almost empty top shelf in my kitchen that I could keep 2-3 little things like this easily up there with my big ol crock pot. I am very glad I decided to get this thing, so are my kids! We are always looking for things they can make for themselves without resorting to frozen tv dinner type stuff for when I am working late. My 19yr old daughter can make a few things, but not many, and the boys like making stuff themselves. If you are on the fence about this you should go for it! Everything we have made so far has come out cooked as wanted. I may pick up an extra one to take to the office for people. I think it would be a big hit!

Great Little Egg Cooker So Long As You Fine-Tune Your Approach
This is a very handy kitchen gadget that does save me time, especially when it comes to standing over a frying pan or poaching pan to cook my eggs. Now, there are some things that you need to know in order to get the most out of this device. Here’s what I’ve found: 1. If you are poaching eggs, you may find that they completed poached eggs are too watery and loose. One unusual aspect of this cooker is that the more water you measure and put into the boiling tray, the longer your cook time will be. That’s because the unit works by continuing to cook so long as there still is water present which the built-in sensor will detect. I had to experiment to get poached eggs to where I like them which ended up being either around the Soft line or between the Soft & Medium line on the poached eggs side of the water measuring cup. When I cook poached eggs I like to carefully take out the plastic poaching tray (it’s hot use pot holders or similar) to slightly tilt it so that excess water from the steam is removed around each of the eggs prior to me taking them to plate. Also, when I remove poached eggs I use a spoon to take them out of the plastic poaching tray instead of just turning the tray over on a plate. I do this because if you don’t you’ll invariably end up with extra water on your plate. 2. Do not spill any eggs whites on the sides of the cooking plate, on the cooking plate, or even on the plastic cooking tray. That’s because you’ll have one heck of a time trying to clean the burned egg white off of the machine without damaging it. I had this happen once and I had to use a mixture of water and baking soda (let it sit for 20 minutes) in order to get things back to normal. It also took a heck of a lot of Magic Eraser and sponge scrubbing to complete it all. 3. When you’re using the cooker, be sure to make sure that the small open hole of the plastic cover is pointed towards the back of your unit. You don’t really want hot steam blowing out towards the front near your face. 4. Follow the directions in the manual and for the cooking suggestions use those as a good place to start, but fine-tune based on how you like your eggs. This is really a very handy machine. It works well, though one side does get a bit warmer than the other so one egg may be a little less/more cooked than the other, but no big deal. The size of the unit is perfect - not too small, not too big and easily cooks six hardboiled eggs at a time. Washing the plastic plates is very simple and takes almost no time. Ingenious little device and with the right fine-tuning information (like what I’ve tried to enter here) you’ll be well on your way to a really nicely cooked egg. It’s a recommend from me to anyone who likes eggs, but doesn’t like to deal with the standard cook time and process.

Makes perfect boiled eggs quick!
LOVE this rapid egg cooker that was a gift and have since gifted 3 of them to family. This has become one of my favorite appliances to own and to gift! No more hassle of waiting for the water to boil, wondering if the eggs are ready, accidentally forgetting that you have eggs boiling on the stove, having a pot to clean afterwards, not to mention the struggle to peel off the shell without destroying the egg. This little wonder cooks perfect soft, medium or hard cooked eggs in less time than it takes to get your pot of water to a boil. There is little to no clean up, takes up little storage space and your eggs peel easily and perfectly every time! Be sure to read and follow the instructions the first time and understand which end of the egg faces up! Get back to enjoying boiled eggs and dishes made with boiled eggs. I own the black model and it plays a nice little tune when the eggs are ready that continues to chime until you press the button to make it stop. I learned that some of the other colors have a buzzer that sounds when the eggs are finished. Be sure to get a model that has a stem or handle to remove the egg stand for ease of removal. The model I purchased also has an additional "dish" to steam small amounts of veggies or to make poached eggs. Gifted one to my 77yr old mom and she is loving the speed, ease and convenience of being able to make perfect deviled eggs. Both of my college aged boys asked for one and love the compact size and the option to cook not only hard boiled eggs but also steamed veggies. Highly recommend!

Simplicity and Convenience!
It is April 15, 2026, and it has been almost 2 years since I purchased the Dash Rapid Egg Cooker. I am absolutely satisfied with this product. It is simple to use, saves me time, it alerts me when the eggs are ready, and cooks them right every time. So far, I have not had any issues with it. My family and I love this egg cooker for its simplicity and convenience. Anyone looking to buy an egg cooker should consider this product.

This is great product!
So I purchased this a few months ago and wanted to try out all the features before I submitted my review. I mainly purchased it for making hard boiled eggs without the fuss of doing it on the stove, and supposedly the shells would come off easier after cooking. I love the convenience of cooking hard boiled eggs, although some eggs seem to cook perfectly while others may have a yolk that is a tad soft but never so soft that it isn't edible or workable for deviled eggs. And, in 95% of the cases, whether it is a fresh from the chicken egg or a store bought egg, the shells come off easily. A HUGE bonus for me. I read that a lot of people had difficulty with the poached egg feature, and I was definitely among them. However, I finally hit the right water level after trying them all. The water level for poached on the water cup will yield an uncooked watery mess. But if you set the water level to medium, dead on, no more, no less, you should end up with a perfect poached egg. When the timer goes off, get your egg outta there or it will continue to cook, not a good thing. You will need to pour off what little water may be in the cup, then serve. I use olive oil to coat the poaching cup before putting in the egg. Not sure if it matters what you use, but that's what I use. The omelet cup yields a wonderful fluffy omelet. The capacity is 2 eggs but quite frankly one egg puffs up so much during the cooking time that I'm not sure if 2 eggs would be too much or not. I only eat one egg anyway, and I add stuff like cheese, bacon, ham, onions, whatever strikes my fancy. I was really impressed by the result. So there you have it. I love this cooker, I'm so glad I purchased it. Be sure and read the directions, the most important one being to NOT lock your cooker while it is cooking. It will become a mini pressure cooker if you do that and that would not be a good thing. The lock feature is there to keep the accessories locked into the cooker when you are storing it. I put a label on the lid of the cooker to remind me NOT to lock it during cooking because sometimes I forget stuff.

My insights and tips. I love it!
It does what it's supposed to do. What you need to know is, there are lots of variables involved in getting the boiled egg you like. It's a matter of trial and error until you figure it out. -- size of egg matters; the bigger the egg, the more water & time it's going to need (more than it says) -- temperature of egg matters; whether it's lukewarm from the hen-house or just out of a cold fridge -- your personal take on what "soft," "medium," and "hard" is supposed to be like I started off with an Extra Large "Country Hen" brand egg (just one egg) and filled the little cup to exactly the "medium" mark. I did not puncture the egg. It steamed for around 4 minutes and the music came on. I turned off the music and let it sit in the unit another 30 seconds, then transferred it to a bowl of cold water for one minute, then started peeling it. I got most of the peel off one-third of the egg and was having trouble getting the peel off. Then I realized the egg was really, really squishy and not cooked. So, I deposited the partly peeled egg back in the unit and filled the cup to the "soft" setting this time. At the end of 2 minutes the music went off and I could see that the white of the egg looked a little firmer, so I removed the egg (with a potholder) and tried peeling it again; it was still kind of squishy. I repeated this last process one more time, filling the cup to "soft" and then was able to peel the egg; still a little difficult to peel but I was finally able to slide a spoon under the egg's membrane and got it loose. The photo is what it looked like after I placed the egg on toast and chopped it up. All I can say is it's an egg, and it came out the way I intended it, but I need to figure out the water measurement better next time so I didn't have to go through all that rigamarole. I provide this description of what I did for others who find that their egg is not quite cooked enough; you can stick it back in the unit and cook it some more! It works. As for the unit itself, there are a lot of things I really like about it: -- The overall shape is pleasantly round, and not bulbous or squarish like some of them. It's more organic looking with roundy legs and not stick-like legs. -- The cord is white, not black like some other brands, and blends in better with my kitchen counter. It's not super long, but it's long enough. -- I got the yellow one and I'm really pleased with the color; it's the same soft color as a cooked egg yolk, and not glaringly yellow. -- The top part of the unit can be secured onto the bottom part by turning the top so that it "locks" with the bottom part; the instructions say not to do that, though, while it's cooking. But this makes it easier to lift the unit together with its top and parts inside it, instead of having separate pieces that can fall off. Some of the other brands don't have this feature. -- The unit only cooks 6 eggs at a time, not 7 like most, but that's fine with me because I only need to cook eggs for one or two people. -- The fact that it only does 6 eggs means that the center of the egg holder is free for a little spindle that can be placed there before cooking so you can lift the entire egg tray up and move it to cold water. Other brands don't have that. -- The alarm is pleasantly musical and not too loud, unlike some other brands with a loud buzzer that knocks you off your feet. Cons: -- The measuring cup is not marked with ink, just raised indicators same color as the clear plastic. You have to hold it up to the light to see how much you're putting in there. I may order a better measuring cup for teaspoons, tablespoons, and ounces. Anyhow, I think I've gotten the best egg cooker available. The price is right, the unit is cute, it works, even if you flub up and have to keep putting the egg back in there, even partially peeled, it will still cook you an egg. And mine came out just fine even with all that fuss. I plan on getting better at it. I will report back if I come up with more tips. Update after 5 uses: I decided to punch a hole in the end of the egg, and this does seem to make it just a little easier to peel. I'm using Extra Large eggs, and it definitely takes a lot more water (= longer time). I've filled the cup to the "Hard" level, as well as a little above that, and the egg comes out more like soft/medium-boiled (but not runny). I don't leave it in the machine; I take it right out and lower it into a bowl of water with ice cubes for a minute. Every morning I can look forward to an egg now, without the hassle of getting out pots and pans and trying to guess how long the egg is going to take or winding up with a harder or softer egg.
