I have a multi-port usb device plugged into my computer, can i plug the receiver into this device?

Our GarageDoorMinder XR model uses standard ER14250 batteries. The long-life battery pack for the original GarageDoorMinder can be purchased at an economical price from our company.

Will the battery be drained if garage door is typically left open during day and closed at night?

The transmitter (on the garage door) is battery operated. It would be sending a signal all day which would shorten its battery life. Haven't had mine long enough to tell how hard it is to replace the transmitter battery.
